I am picking up a '14 Jetta TDI Sportwagon next week. I had OEM HID's in my '02 Golf and upgrading the Sportwagon to HID's is a priority for me. Can anybody recommend a quality bi-xenon HID setup? I would like as high a quality unit as I can get without spending the $$$$$$ for the OEM units. I have searched the forums and haven't found any good recommendations. Thank you

I have been blinded by too many vehicles that had HID or LED bulbs put in halogen assemblies, I am not going that route. For me, full HID projectors are my only option.

Mine don’t blind others. We made sure of that. It has lifetime warranty. Your choice.

I think as long as you take the time to aim your headlights properly with the new bulbs, you shouldn’t blind anybody. Halogen bulbs aimed incorrectly can also blind other drivers. Headlight Revolution has a great video demonstrating how to properly aim LED lights (applies pretty much to any bulb type you may be running): https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=uz0yRCyTP2w&t=220s

Nevertheless, these look like they’re quality projector headlamps (eBay app): https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/192530744031

Now these, I confirmed with the seller that HID bulbs will fit. These also appear to be high quality projectors: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/172192673243

Now if you’re planning to run HID bulbs, do not get these. I have them currently installed on my SportWagen with LED bulbs as my HID bulbs were too long to fit in the projector housing. Also the cutoff line is too low at its highest adjustment point, which severely impacts how far I can see: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/202359410284

Are these just plug-&-play bulb replacements? Can you provide a link?

I absolutely have no interest in tinkering with the OEM housings. I think that's a recipe for problems down the road, no matter the "quality." As someone who used to do this kind of stuff with my cars in younger years, leaking was always (eventually) an issue, as was premature discoloration. And I always bought what were considered top-of-the-line products.

Did you have any problems with the headlight warning telling you to check the headlight after you put in the leds?

Nope no issues. They know what they are doing.

2003 ALH wagon, 2015 Passat TDI and 2014 JSW TDI has it. JSW is fully loaded with exterior and interior bulbs even DRL. Few LED bulbs do go out and replaced. I am happy with the company for years.

Are there only two sets I'd need for the high and low beams plus the DRL? That's what it looks like.

Passats only have low beam support, high beam design isn’t possible for LED to fit in at this time, someday perhaps.

Golf shares same headlight design as the JSW.

Jetta sedan, is different so I cant say.

Gotcha. So it's the $144.99 package and the $134.99 package and I'm all set? Just want to be sure I'm understanding that correctly since there is a lot listed there.

Thanks!

Yes thats correct. So far the original LED headlight bulb I bought in 2016 is now on the Passat and it hasn’t gone out. Still working flawlessly. On JSW is brand new and I am happy with it. My interior is full of LEDs. Reverse, brake and night lights, turn signals. All very bright. License plate too. I took oem LED out for theirs cuz oem was not bright. It is truly Huge difference.

I just put in a set of deautokey LED low beams. Truly plug and play for the Mk6 Golf/JSW: no adapters, no wires, perfect fit and perfect cutoff.

I had one bulb not want to make contact out of the box. I bent the contact on the bulb a tiny bit and all is well.

Truth be told, I would prefer a slightly warmer color (high 4000K) but the 5500K is crisp without being annoyingly blue.

High Beam/DRL are on order already.

Thanks for the support and feedback gboss and calimustang. We feel if you install you will see a difference and be very happy. We are blinded on the road also and would never want to add to the issue.

And yes this is brand new LED technology gboss - thanks for noticing. It has no wires or resistors just a bulb with the special adapter JSW NEEDs:
http://deautokey.com/product/new-le...olf-gof-sportwagen-alltrack-jsw-tiguan-passat

And the high beams:
http://deautokey.com/product/h15-da...00-plug-play-fits-many-volkswagen-audi-models

These do create a nice cut-off as it has a design to work with the reflector and align 9 and 3. There are others on the market that look similar but will not align correctly.

These seem tough to find, but to me look to be the best of both worlds. OEM+ design, and proper design to utilize HIDs but don't cost a mint.

No problem. There's a thread on vortex where a guy installed them, pretty sure he's enjoying them. The cutoff looks really good. And they're a plug'n'play option, no wiring harness adapters necessary. Not sure on VCDS coding.

Probably the best money spent on lights. They're plug and play with no coding required. Super high quality and easy to install.

Man, that is precisely the look I'm going for with the #farmenwagen. Kudos to you for well executed visual upgrades.
