Help with 09 Jetta Auxiliary Input!

I bought my '09 JSW back in Aug '12. Auxillary worked for a while then one it didnt. I dont really remember when. It might have been after I serviced the DSG or after I got a Malone tune. Thought Idk if that would mess with it at all.

Im not pointing fingers but it stopped working at one point.

I finally wanted to fix it today, found this thread and had the same 0010400 as a few mentioned before. Changed it to 0010401 and I have Aux back.

Just wanted to chime in on a useful thread and throw in my $0.02.

Had this problem with my son's '09 sedan. Followed the directions in #7, and POOF! It works! Now he can listen to that crap he listens to...Guys, y'all are awesome! Thanks! (coded with OBDEleven)

What is VCDS? Can I have this done at autozone or something like that? Ugh, this is super annoying! I wondered why I didn’t see the AUX option anymore!! Glad I found this forum, otherwise I may have drive my Jetta off a cliff after all

I have an 09 Jetta SE and this issue popped up a few months ago when I had the battery replaced at the dealership and now they want $170 to diagnose and fix the issue. I plan on keeping the car for as long as she can go, is this VCDS something I can purchase and do myself?
