Help! I am trying to find out what houses the temp cooler sensor and where to replace!

I need to replace my Coolant temp sensor on my mk4 golf and it seems to be super stuck in there. I ended up breaking off a piece of where the clip goes so I need to replace where the sensor goes. I was told it’s the thermostat housing but everywhere I look it doesn’t seem like the sensor goes in there. Any help appreciated I’m pretty new to cars in general so apologies in advance lol

You broke the aluminum coolant outlet flange? Not seeing that part available new, probably need to get a used one from a wrecker.
