Stick a metal hook tool in the slot and with the hook facing the drivers side you fish, then pull. Hood open.

Why oh why would you EVER mess with the oil feed line?

You hosed it. It will leak so just get a new one.

YOu can often times get a small set of needle nose vice grips on the lower small "nut" surface of the fitting, or you can tap a short fat flat head screwdriver inbetween the fitting and the turbine housing to hold it on place. the fitting always tries to unscrew from the turbo instead of the oil unscrewing from the fitting :-(

I have had oil leaks at the oil feed line connection to the union on top of the turbo and the washer under the union breaking and leaking. You can buy a replacement pressure seal for the end of the turbo oil supply line, but will have to remove the line from the engine and saw off the old seal first. The cone seal costs about $6, but be sure the line is completely clean and there are no metal particles left over from cutting! A new line costs about $85 for my 1Z engine but the seal is hollow so if you over torque it, it will leak oil very quickly since it is under 60 PSI pressure! Do not mess this up or your engine will be ruined in short order! I replaced the line shortly after buying my Passat in late June. I replaced the seal and a broken washer under the union 2 weeks ago. Just a little present from the former owner....he used an aluminum washer under the union which cracked and all the oil leaked out. The washer is supposed to be copper I found out. I found a 3/8 copper washer from a hardware store and filed the inside diameter just enough to get it over the threads on the union. The copper gasket from VW is too small in my experience! As for the seal on the end of the oil supply line, since I realized it was hollow, it is essentially a one time use item. The replacement seal is solid steel and will not collapse like the seal you get on a new line. Hope my hard won education can help you prevent another loss of engine oil!

On the hood latch pull handle, you can reach in with a needlenose pliers and grab the arm/finger that was sandwiched by the T handle and pull it while lifting the hood.

The T handle that fell of is held on by a dainty clip and a very small pin. When they fall off, they sometimes get caught in the hood latch and don't fall to the ground. Try a magnet tool down in the latch to see if you come up with anything.

As I recall, the clip and the pin come with the very expensive latch. I tried to buy them once from a dealer, and because they were not available separately, I just used a nut and bolt to replace the clip and pin. This had an affect on the latch operation slightly but it still opened.

Thanks for all the on going help!

I replaced the oil retun line found I had the wrong one installed when I purchased the car. I assume someone had replaced the turbo around 45K along with the belt although I do not have any backgroung docs to prove this.
I found the opener tangs borken, replaced same and used a rig to attach it.
All is well in Florida now on to my PP520's installed last week and a chip upgrade.
