So my parts came this AM and with great excitement I began reassembly of the heater box only to discover upon opening the heater core box, that although it was physically identical to the unit I pulled from my car, the hose ends were completely different and would not fit the hoses in the car.
I had ordered by OEM p/n but apparently there are more than one hose end types.
This was from RockAuto and was a Valeo unit made in France.
Just ordered the one from IDparts as it appears to be the same as mine.
Now I won't get them till at least Monday or Tuesday.
Am I bummed.

There are no Valeo heater cores listed in rockauto under a MK4 Jetta TDI. Had a discussion with a few members a while back as we were trying to find a source of OEM heater cores without having to go to the stealer.

You sure the hose ends are different? Sounds like you got a core to a different car. All the hose ends I saw were the quick disconnect type and they were all the same.

Yes, I should have sourced it using MK4 VW instead of the OEM part#.
The ends are completely different although it is otherwise identical.

Can you put information on how to remove all the items before you remove the core.
