Hi , again ..

It's getting cold .. and oil pan heater is difficult to find !

So now I am kind of scanning the possibilities for the heat.
BMW seems to have heat / thermal accumulator as an option. They claim that it's able to keep the heat as long as four days in -40C !! Then it should have the hot water circulating in 30 seconds !! Hmm.. could be very nice with a block heater
(..to 'charge' the accu !!)

So have you tried one of these - And where to get one !?

I don't know where to get a "heat accumulator" but you should be able to order the oil pan heater from any VW dealer. (At least the ones in Canada.)

This has been talked about before, but I don't anything came of it. Somebody also mentioned a timed car heater that ran off of diesel, but it was expensive - like for limos, or something. You could try the search function.

Hi !!

Yes I could try to get the oil pan heater from the official VAG - If I only could find the order code for 230V european version (I'm from Finland) !! .. The VAG-guys did find a picture of it but no order code or anything !!

And yes I'm also looking for eber and webasto - but they are a bit expensive .. about 1kUSD and up .. (Even found a local dealer !!)

I could even make my own heat accumulator if I find enought information

So still scanning the options ..

And thanks for the links !!
