Question for you all.... A friend of mine has a 09 jetta 2.5 L gasser, her headlights always burn out alternately. This happens every few months. Does anybody know what causes this?

Does he touch the glass when he installs the bulbs? Are they standard headlight bulbs or some kind of allegedly enhanced performance bulbs? The latter often have shorter life. Standard wattage?

Sometimes it's even the same one in a row... Or it's one or the other. She was even thinking on going to the expensive ones, but then she changed her mind after she seen how much they were

The most obvious thing to ask first: does she touch the glass bulb when installing them? That's a big no-no with halogen bulbs, the oils from our skin will create a hot spot on the glass.
