(2009 Jetta cjaa) Hey guys! Just finished doing the egr cooler bypass since car was burning coolant. This did not fix the issue. Pretty sure it is a small head gasket leak since oil is not milky. I’m needing to fill the coolant ball every 350km.
wondering if anyone has gotten their head gasket done and what the cost will be. I’m leaving for work in 1 month, still at school for aircraft maintenance and do not have the time to get it done myself. I’m in Quebec Canada where hourly rate is 110$.
Thanks

I would first make sure that it is your head gasket that is leaking, maybe take it to a shop & they can test it, one little trick that you can do is open up coolant ball cap & sniff inside it and see if you can smell any exhaust gases

I just had the same problem on a ALH engine ended up being the head gasket was leaking from the combustion chamber into the water jacket, it looked like it was leaking in several different places. The coolant system would pressurize up to 20 psi very quickly after engine start.
