So, lots of us came from the MK4 TDI's and installed skid plates because the oil pans were so low that they got smashed up all the time. It was a worthwhile mod and mine absolutely saved me a few times.
But I'm wondering if that issue still persists on the MK6 JSW's and Golf's or if we are all just installing them out of habit or for peace of mind. So I'm curious if anyone has busted their oil pans on one of these cars.
Full disclosure: I've have a used Dieselgeek skid plate and a box of brand new hardware sitting in my garage for 2 years/20k miles waiting for me to install it. I'll probably put it on because I have it, but wonder if its really worthwhile.
