GTG NC or SC soon?

Landon/Turbinewhine sometimes does a GTG in Asheville during early June. I haven't heard any word on that yet this year though.

I'm told negotiating around where to have it and when Jeff can schedule are the things that are some items pertinent presently. I'd like to get an RC2 for our previously enjoyed NB, so I get to be 1st on the list We definitely need a list, yes?

Landon's son is who I talked to about it. I didn't know Landon was retiring We need a GTG just to give him a proper roasting I'd love to be able to help in some way, but I'm a 4 hour drive away.

Not sure if he's up for hosting but from what I remember they have a large garage for wrenching on the cars...

I hear Landon has decided to do a world tour. I would be happy to join in, with others, on getting a GTG/Landon Roast organized for some time this Summer, when he returns. I'll get up with his son in the next week. Need some new injectors and suspension work on the old NB anyway. Don't know if he would want to roast his dad, but perhaps we can cook a pig in his honor. Burgers and veggies for those who don't eat pork.

Asheville would be great. I missed the last GTG or two there. Since my kids don't play yearround baseball anymore, I'm sure I could work it in. Anyways, for those who like to run the "Dragon", their is another good drive about 20 or 30 min. east of Asheville. I think they call it the Diamond Back.

On Saturday May 28, 2011 from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM is Skip's VW Rally in East Flat Rock, NC adjacent to the GE Lighting plant at 3010 Spartanburg Highway. Lots of vintage VW there. My wife and I went last year and enjoyed it very much.

I am starting the effort to set the date and place for my summer GTG near central SC, in the Chapin or Winnsboro areas.

This is generally held in the July timeframe, but has drifted into early August on occasion. I hope to set the date in the next 10 days or so.

My Winter GTG is usually held in late January.

I miss the Asheville GTG's as well.

I've been absent for a bit, adding our first child to the family in feb and tryign to get my master's done at the same time. A bit hectic, but things are settling into place and I'd love to get together. Jacksonville, NC area is where I'm at.

The worst thing about being down here is that I lost my car work buddy from VA. and there's a lot of little things piling up, everything from interior trim work to TB change and EGR cleaning.

Anyway, I'm interested, and I'll keep checking back in.

It looks as if my summer GTG will be Saturday, July 30 at Midlands BioFuels in Winnsboro, SC. Jeff Robertson will be there. Look for another thread in the Southeast forum soon.
