Does anyone have weedwacker wire to spare? Being a condo dweller, I don't have any.
I heard that's how you'd clear a sunroof drain. I don't know if mine is clogged yet.[/quote]

Have lots of wire. Metal or nylon.

I'll try to make it early this year, shootin' for 10. Does anyone have any fancy schmancy VW terminal release tools to get the pins out of wiring plugs? I usually just use paperclips but that sucks. I might need to do a little re-wiring at the GTG.

I'll definitely maybe be able to make it...we shall see. :)

(if so then it's me +1)

Hey i'm going to be heading down there tomorrow and I was wondering if i could get a tune on my ALH. The previous owner installed a VR6 clutch with the trans swap, how reputable are those with handling a good high performance tune?

This is one of the best GTGs I have been to (along with Fix Um Haus).. really nice location. Looks like I can make it tomorrow but it'll be for a couple hours - approx. 10am to 12pm.

Rich might attend to sell some tunes if anyone wants them. I'll also have a couple FlashZilla loaders for sale ($50 off purchase price or free loaner for 2000-2003 Golf/Jetta TDI).

Jorry- intake cleanings allowed? (not mine, nerfherders)
Cleanings are allowed. We can see if it will compare with the one done at the GTG a couple of years ago. A newbie shows up with her (yes her) Jetta and wanted to clean the intake, but to do it herself. Dressed in beige jeans, a white shirt and pigtails. Did it all herself with just a little help from the others. Stayed clean. Afterwards we asked her what she did. "I am going the U of W, finishing my PhD in Physics. Glad that we all were sitting down.

Philip, I do have the connector tools for the two small connectors.

Sweet (about the connector tools)! I'm not sure if NerfHerder can get his hair into pigtails or not, but he's definitely a newbie :D

I'll be bringing a pretty full compliment of tools (as usual). I've got the terminal pin release gizmodo as well...

I'm planning on coming up. Looks like no caravan this year.:(
The beetle has a CEL and an airbag light that I would like to get investigated/cleared.
I also have some major alignment issues going on that required a new pair of front tires today. I could use some analyzing of that compared to what Les Schwab is telling my husband.
Other than that, I'll just be hanging around and looking under people's hoods.:D

All ready for tomorrow. Shall be fun.

BTW, the Shell station has diesel for $3.20 a gallon if anyone needs fuel. Only 1/4 mile from the house. High fuel turnover. I have never had a problem with their fuel.

See all tomorrow.

Sorry Jorry,
I won't be able to make it. I'm just too wiped out from my crazy week.

Have fun guys!

Now I have to figure out what to do with a ginormous bowl of asian noodle salad!

as my avatar suggests, I was the dude who pulled in later in the black mk5 wagon. It was good meeting a few people, and a big thanks goes out to Jorry for hosting. I did take a couple of wide photos that I'll post up eventually.

Just got back home (swung by Angel of the Winds=FAIL), anyway, nice GTG as always Jorry! The pulled pork was pretty darn delicious if I must say so. I didn't try any last year so I can't compare the two.

Mike- I really appreciate the extra help with the spare ECU. Awesome! Still working out great. I'll get a better test tomorrow morning on a true cold start though. I got my fingers crossed.

Pat- you're ALH is a beast! Very surprising for an RC4 car. You should be very proud of it.

Great GTG

Thanks for another great GTG Jorry and Marie! Had a great time and got to meet some new faces well as seeing everyone else again. Thanks again for looking after that part for me. To top off an excellent day we stopped at the Nooksack casino on the way home and had their excellent buffet. We each had a $25 budget and I converted my $25 into nearly $200 on 3 consecutive slots that started to pay almost immediately:D . The stars were in alignment today.

Hey, that's funny... my specialty is converting $100.00 to $.68 with amazing regularity.

Fantastic GTG as usual. Jorry and Marie are the hosts extraordinaire. It was great seeing all the familiar & new faces too. Phil and I swapped cars for a little speed run and it was the highlight of my day. If my car's a beast, his is a bigger one. Phil has invested a lot of time, effort and love in his car and it shows. Many thanks to Jorry and Marie for hosting a truly memorable event and I can't wait for the next one. See everyone at the Fest, if not sooner.

Another fantastic Lake Stevens GTG, even with the small amount of liquid sunshine we got. I survived this year without a sunburn this year.:D

As always it was great to see everyone. Hope to see everyone at TDI fest in September.

Thanks for all the compliments on my "art" project.;) For those of you that had questions about it and the work involved here is a link to my build thread. http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=268968

Surpassed expectations

Jorry, thanks to you and your wife for being the gracious hosts that you are. There aren't many folks who open up their home, property and resources these days. Needless to say, the pulled pork and 3 bean soup were fantastic.
This was my first TDI get together. With out a doubt it surpassed expectations. I felt like a kid in a candy store. Thanks to all who did not mind the gauking, gazing, and in some cases, outright salivating over the mods; both power and aesthetic!
While it was great to see all of the various TDI's, I was impressed most by the personalities of owners most of all. There was an absolute synergy that I felt with all of you. The fact that so many of us had puchased the Koni FSD package epitomized that "synergy" IMHO. :p
Mathew, thanks for all of the tips and honest advice that you provided about my upcoming suspension project.
Mike. Your sense of humor was definately a welcome surprise. You might be hearing from in the next six weeks for an ECU tune.
Ed, you are quite the gentleman and the scholar. I really liked your taste in the styling of your vehicle.
Yo Nerfherder! Without a doubt, you cemented my will to complete an EGR delete. Next time I am in the Whideby Island neighborhood, the first round is on me. I thankyou for your service to your country.
Pat, you are quite the character. I look for forward to reviewing a lot of your previous posts. I am in your neighborhood from time to time. Don't surprised if I look you up on occasion.
Hey there O.C. I was blown away by the vision that you have for your machine. The passion was, without a doubt, reflected in the design and execution of the mods made to your vehicle. I look forward to seeing more of the progress to be made to your project.
To everyone else, I look forward to seeing you guys at other events, I will try to make that event up in, was it Abbotsford,BC I think? It all depends on the my job and whether or not I will be in town.

To Jorry and Marie, many thanks for being such great hosts! The spread was great and the setting is as beautiful as always!!

To everyone else that was there when I showed up (better late than never I suppose) it was great seeing everyone and meeting some new and enthusiastic TDI owners (Darius and Denton, I'm referring to you two!)

I ended up grabbing a motel room just off the I5 near the Talalip Casino, had a quick bite at Denny's then hit the sack. Up early this morning for breakfast, shopping at the Outlet mall, then parlayed $50 into $450 at the Blackjack tables! Drove out to Blaine to the Semiahmoo Resort and got a beautiful ocean-view room for the night and a tee time for the morning, then heading back to the Island in the PM. Been a great weekend/holiday and it all started with a TDI gtg!!

Jorry and Marie,

Thank you for hosting another great GTG. My family had a great time as always. The pulled pork was great. Kudos to your new supplier. Next time I will have to come prepared to do a little wrenching on my car. I will have to find a good place in town to wash my car too. I was embarrassed of how dirty it was compared to the rest. In my defense most of it was dirt picked up from the trip over Stevens pass on my way in.

See you all at TDI Fest and perhaps Jet Puff's gtg,
