I why not just go TTRS if you want to stay OEM?

Or aftermarket has slews of clutches to hold well over 500 torques.

Here is a complete GTD clutch system:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/SACHS-KUPPL...ake:VW&hash=item56a4153c47:g:B4QAAOSwCMFZ7wF~

But maybe we could get by with just the pressure plate ?

Then again I'm not sure the GTD clutch is different, I would think so given that our stock clutch can shudder/slip

Not familiar with the TTRS option, but I like the idea of having an OEM higher performance factory TDI option.

Anyway, with the kerma 1, I only get shudder when applying full throttle at 2k rpm, so I just avoid doing that.

Anyway many years from now when I need a clutch, maybe the GTD pressure plate will be a good economical option in addition to aftermarket ones

Part number for the GTD pressure plate appears to be 03L141026B, is that different than ours ?

Shuddering is coming from the flywheel. If you want that to go away, a SMF is in order, an adjustment to the tune, or adding a Fluidampr cured it in my case.

Interesting

I doubt the GTD shudders...so maybe the flywheel is different too

I never had any shudder from my factory dmf, but I did get slippage after a tune. My clutch looked fine like the AARodriguez one, just wouldn't hold the torque.

GTD uses a DMF as well that will shudder. I'd bet it's the same DMF as torque is limited to <300 ft-lbs from the factory when it's clearly capable of more. SMF is the only good solution unless you limit torque in the tune, but who wants to do that in a diesel!?

The Sachs SRE dmf clutch is rated for over 390 ft/lbs. It's not cheap, but by the time you add a fluidampr to a SMF kit to preserve the syncros, the smf isn't all that cheap either.

No shudder on your EA288?

While the DMF is most likely the same between a Gen 1 and a Gen 3 TDI, the power delivery of tunes may be way off as they are pretty radical change between the gens and thus why many people with the EA288 have noted the shudder, where Gen 1 owners like youself never had an issue.

Maybe it's the issue of the tuners being too ambitious with low end torque of the EA288 or VW swapped suppliers of DMFs.

I really doubt the power delivery is that much different. The flywheel & clutch are the same. Plenty of mk6 owners reported dmf shudder after a tune, I just never had any on mine.

Not worlds of difference, but that peak torque does look like is moved down 4-500RPMs. Just one dyno from the tuner, take it for what its worth.
