I just got my 5 speed swap done with a bew tranny on my 03 golf alh.

I seem to get a metal rubbing noise when accelerating fast. when I accelerate slow I dont hear the noise.

would this be a bad cv joint possibly? gears are fine when going to the others.

-I had recently changed my clutch and throwout bearing
-added new gear oil

Is the engine moving under hard acceleration?
You can see this with hood open and ebreke engaged, just load the engine, don't fully engage clutch .
If so look at all engine and transmission mount locations for broken, loose or missing componates.
Cheers

Not the rip itself, but if all the grease flies out the joint will quickly deteriorate. Sometimes you can just regrease and fix the boot, often the whole joint is shot.

I have a south bend stage 2 clutch and flywheel. I replaced clutch friction disk and throwout bearing. Reused the flywheel and pressure plate from donor car which was replaced 20k miles ago
