09 TDI sedan, sold back 12/16. Present cars 2013 BMW X5 diesel, 2015 Corvette convertible
On a simple, one owner 09 Jetta no lien submission, my documents were accepted as being in order on Oct 15. So far, no offer letter. But from October 25, its not yet 10 business days.

If you're using an electronic transfer, it shouldn't make a difference in your timing, the amount would be less when deposited. I wouldn't risk resetting anything. If you were planning on getting a check instead, your check won't be given to you at the time of turn-in, but will instead be mailed within three business days. This is all based on the CAS though, not what VW is actually doing.
Thanks, that makes sense. I was planning on doing EFT, so that part is good. I was thinking about it after I posted, and I vaguely remembered putting in a mileage estimate of 70,000 for a November turn-in, which actually puts me into the higher of my two potential mileage brackets anyway.

Just got the offer!

Signed up first day or so. Two owners, no loan, Golf.

Will scan and upload as soon as I can drag the wife away from getting a real estate deal sewn up. Thats good money as well.

VW offer was $390 more than calculator estimates. I will spend that on something good for the MINI.

Based on the spreadsheet it would appear that they are working their way through the paid off Golfs and Jettas first. No Passats or Beetles showing offers yet. Interesting... Possibly just a fluke due to there being more of those out there but there would seem to be enough of a sample size to have at least one Passat or Beetle.

Not true. I got a offer on my Passat last Friday.

Tomorrow should be the official first 10 business day mark for getting offer letters out since the courts approved the settlement. My paperwork was approved for eligibility the prior Tuesday 10/18 so technically I should have my offer via email by tomorrow if they follow their own guidelines. I have a 2014 Passat with a lien (bank states VW recently called them for a long term payoff quote - 15 day payoff). Fingers crossed? I've got my replacement vehicle already and I just want this gone and done with.

And 6000 of them are from the same couple dozen people on the forums here.
Some fun and probably useless stats.

Somewhere on this or another thread someone posted some stats from a meeting last Thursday (11/3) before the courts, and at that time they said that 28000 cars had docs that had been validated. At that time no letters had gone out.

Comparing that to the spreadsheet, we currently see 242 people reporting docs complete up through 11/3. If one extrapolates, that implies that there are about 115 cars out there for every one in the spreadsheet.

Going a little further, we currently see 30 people who have an offer in the spreadsheet. Extrapolating, that gives us nationwide about 3450 cars with an offer on them.

And to take this one last step, there are around 600 dealers in the country. If those 3450 cars got divided among those dealers evenly, that would be about 5 cars per dealer.

We'll see what tomorrow brings. I spoke with a rep today who said it was "really 20 days."

I am sorry for my poor choice of the word "review" in my OP on a forum full of attorneys and legal scholars.:p

What the notary did was exactly as DanB stated. She looked it over for blank spaces and determined that she could not use the page that states she "personally knew me" No legal advice was offered or given. Besides I didn't mind because she was an attractive young lady, just busting out with enthusiasm if you know what I mean.;)

I uploaded everything so there was nothing left to chance. My only goal in my original post was to share the notary experience so that the other approximately 75k Californians might know what to expect.
I'm not a lawyer, but I'm a paralegal and we had "no practicing law without a license" drilled into our head.

Doesn't anything beyond 10 business days violate the court order? If so, then what?
.
I politely challenged the man on the phone, but he just kept repeating it being 20 days and that I "should" get something in mid November. I was disappointed as the conversation was close ended and one sided.

I suspect that if VW is able to show that they are doing their best, nothing. Let's face it, to process 300,000 applications in 10 business days, with dependencies on other institutions like the DMV and banks, is a tall order.

I updated the spreadsheet with my 12 Golf. I'm sure going the miss the availability of such a fuel efficient and reliable diesel car. My 12 Golf has given me 138,000 miles issue free. It's the best car I've ever owned.

You could drive it until May 2018 if you so desire. That's what I plan on doing before I sell it back.

Best car you've owned, until the HPFP goes out and you're on the hook for a $4500+ bill for something they know is a faulty design. To anyone keeping their car, get the 2Micron kits! Small price to pay to save a huge repair bill down the line. It's not if, it's when.

Been trying to get a kit, but not getting any answers on how to get one lately. A take off for a turn in would be good too.

Maybe you can point me in the right direction?

I never thought to call the bank to see if VW has inquired about a payoff. I just did and unfortunately no. Hopefully soon. I too have a replacement ready with a deposit.
