Correct it's a state thing, what I was saying is they might or might not have the other req license, like resale and city level business lic etc.
Well, the license you posted in post #77 is still listed as active. Of course that may only be for his barrel sales.

That's not a lic just a DBA aka FBN

Ah, I see. They have to get the FBN from the County of Santa Clara then get the actual business license from the city. OK, I called the City of Campbell and they do have a business license there.

I didn't read the whole thread but why all the hate for this guy? Is it because he was supposedly part of the pot bust?

No, we're just curious as to why they aren't registered with the BAR as required by state law, did they make good on poor repairs, did they make good with Aaron at BoraParts, etc. Oh, and Dee wanted to know what the "Happy Planet Co-op" was about as she likes to support co-ops.

Got it. I can tell you my experience with them was good. They did a pre-purchase inspection on my 2006 Jetta 4 years ago.
Great service and seemed very knowledgeable. Would defiantly take my car to him again.

nb2000 do i know you? Is there some reason you have so much hate for me that you go around talking crap about me for no reason? If you were ever a customer and was dissatisfied I'm sorry for you experience.

So you think I was involved with anything to do with the Santa Cruz article? Well I have told you before and I will tell you again! NO ... Get it thru your head! There were two units in the building and goodguys occupied the front unit.We had a sign on the front of the building and the second unit by the other tenant did not have a sign. The second unit had its own entrance and no access into our unit. I was never questioned, I was never detained, I was never arrested, and we were notified that we would not be able to conduct business in the building because of electrical code violations on the other unit. The full building was shut down and red tagged till everything was fixed on the building and the city approved it. So this thread started over an article which was false. We closed our doors for multiple reasons but the big one was the fact that we would not be able afford to pay the bills after getting shut down for an unknown time for the fixes. We were already struggling a bit to keep up with the high rents and defiantly could not afford to shut the doors for what we were told could be weeks possibly months. Im not some Super Villain or Drug Dealer. I just a guy who likes racing and cars. You have no idea how much my family and I have suffered from loosing our business. Emotionally and financially. Yes after santa cruz I did not know if I wanted to wrench anymore. It was a bad experience which I had nothing to do with.
Its because of the passion I have for these cars and multiple phone calls from old customers that I decided to open a new business. Yes I have a small shop that is nothing like the one in santa cruz but its all i can afford since this incident. I have struggled for 2 years to try to make a decent living again.

So Do you go to tdi meet ups and ask for any of the gurus for their bar number or lic number? Or maybe your saying someone should report to bar every time there is a meet up and have someone one come out and check to see the proper licenses!!

Geezz man get a life ! Im not going to play into your games but enough is enough. Yes i have registered with bar , yes i have resale lic. So whats is your problem? Next your going to ask for a copy of my lic and passport!!!

My customers are very happy with my work! I know cars and I know tdi's. I have no complaints from any current customers and if I ever do have a complaint I will try my best to help my customer. My customers have commented about this post and have said exactly what volva has said. All this over an article? and few unhappy people? Sorry I could not make everyone happy. As with life and business I have learned alot from experience and have continued to grow as an individual as well as a business owner.I do have quiet a few tdi club member that would love to say how stupid this thread is and has become but do not want to get involved in your drama. This is border line harassment. Listen I dont have have issue with you nor do I know you so stop your slandering. I dont want any problems im just trying to make a living.

If you or anyone for that matter have an issue with me call me ! Ive stated it before when all this none sense started. Im a very good mechanic and I have alot of TDI knowledge. Ive built several Tdi projects and have enjoyed them. I have been involved in racing for many years from drag racing , to drift racing , to sprint car racing to my latest big completion of the baja 1000 Nov 2013! I may not know everything but I strive to learn more each day!

For everyone one heres my contact info. I am having a small gtg at my shop feb 22 sat in the parking lot and yes nb2000 and anyone else is invited. This meet up is for everyone to hang out and talk cars. Im here to make friends. Im in this for the sport not for the drama. If you would like to check out the latest project we are building look for my thread on the west coast section or give me a ring and stop by. Hope to see everyone at the bbq

Shaz,

I don't know you or have any experience with you. I only know what I've seen here on the forums. Your story seems to be that you had some bad luck with a neighbor, that bad luck spiraled out of control and now you're facing being a pariah in a community for the vehicles you love.

But it's not really that simple, is it? You left customers hanging, you left vendors unpaid, and the community has formed an opinion of you which you don't like. Whether or not any of that is true, that's the community's perception. Ranting and raving the way you are is only solidifying that perception.

If you are truly here to make friends, if you're here for the sport and not the drama, stop stirring up drama. We have a very active and vibrant local community that meets twice a year, spring and fall. Trying to organize your own GTG, given your current community status, is only going to antagonize people and set you up for disappointment.

If you want to be a respected member of this community start acting like one. Contribute to threads without alienating people. Start coming out to Richmond when we do our GTG's, the last one was in October and the next one should be in another couple months. Make what amends you can.

Most importantly, stop responding to people who bring this up. Let the past be the past. You can't change what happened, but by continually responding to people this way you ensure that the conversation will never move on.

OK.

This is off-topic, but any way you can send some of that snow out here to the Sierra Nevadas and Cascades? :D We really need those storms to build the snowpack, replenish the ground water and fill the reserviors (Lake Oroville is down to about 30% capacity).

The snow has been skipping right over us... it has missed us by 50 miles at least 3 times this year. You guys are definitely hurting. Perhaps few west bound freight trains full of snow are in order. ;)

Use that water wisely and good luck! :)

Skully , I understand where your perceptions have come from. I myself have contributed to tdi club under my personal profile as well as the good guys profile. Krystlelite81 and I have also worked together on some posts sharing information.
I went over the tread and there is 2 people that actually were customers and complained. One not being able to get ahold of us after we closed. If customers got left hanging this was not in my intention or in my control. My business was not able to continue for financial reasons.
The only vendor that did not get paid quote un quote I have been in contact with and have purchased parts from him in the last year. With all the chaos and having to move yes some gaps were left. I addressed the situation with the only vendor we had an open balance with more than a year ago and have recently reached out to him before this thread was reactivated. I respect the fact that he is an adult and has not got involved with this nonsense thread! A few peoples experiences does not make the community opinion. I still have a huge following and love what i do.

I still do business with all my venders I did with when I was up in santa cruz. Ive been a part of the tdi community , owned and been a mechanic on tdi's for 14+ years. I have been going to the Tdi meet ups back when it was in santa cruz at Pacific biofuels and have also been to the San Pablo meet up twice. I would love to participate more but i do own a business and have to make time. I have serviced hundreds if not thousands of tdi's. I plan on being more active on here now that ive finally been able to get at least one foot back on the ground.

I am not trying to stir anything up nor ranting and raving. I am simply standing up for my self as well as my business. Its not fair nor ok to kick a guy when he's down especially if you have never met me nor done business with me. Check out my yelp alternative solutions in campbell. These are my current customer with up to date reviews. It speaks for its self. I have one bad review from a customer from my previous business that is currently in the process of being taken off because it does not have anything to do with my current business.

I am done feeding nb2000 or anyone else who has never met me nor done business with me as far as I know. If you do not appreciate my knowledge as an industry professional working on tdi's everyday as a specialist thats fine . Just leave me alone and go back to your bubble. I want to make an effort to have tdi owners meet other tdi owners that dont come on the board everyday. Sharing knowledge I thought was the point of this board not to critique some false claims on a fellow tdi enthusiast and then try to pry into his life checking his permits and online postings. Instead put that energy into something positive and productive.

Yes we are having a GTG February 22 Sat at my shop in the parking lot. Im not making any money off of this nor am I trying to do anything other than have people come out and enjoy the day with other tdi owners. So if you enjoy your car and would like to hang out rather than stay home or do your usual routine come on by!

2014 is going to be an awesome year for Alternative Solutions. We have several products in R&D and are working with vendors for their release. We are building a really sweet High HP well handling older beetle tdi. Check it out! more pictures to follow.

It is an interesting fact that you were a short time after this incident selling off "indoor growing lamp"
http://forums.tdiclub.com/showpost.php?p=4181787&postcount=63

So this thread started over an article which was false.
Perhaps then you should take it up with the people who wrote the article, this thread has mainly been quoting and linking to
information "out there", fairly objective information. If anything posted here is subjective please point it out.

Care to explain what of the article is false? Have you read it?

Or maybe your saying someone should report to bar every time there is a meet up and have someone one come out and check to see the proper licenses!!

This has nothing to do with what anyone on these forums are "saying" it has everything to do with what the law requires.

"California law requires auto repair shops to be registered with DCA/BAR."

If you are indeed actively registered with the California Bureau of Auto Repair, why not share with us under what name it's registered, and settle that once and for all?

Last time You were asked this there was silence:

Stop Harassing Good guys/ Shaz/ TDI guy

A few you folks must have a lots of free time if you are spending all this time writing baseless lies and accusations about Shaz and his old business. Expecially if you've never met the guy or had work done.

The facts are:

1. He was NOT involved with the activities in the Santa Cruz article

2. He is an honest guy and the best TDI mechanic I have ever had work on my TDI

3. Let's move on... and celebrate TDI's on Feb 22!

How does it not have "anything to do" with your current business when your "venders" in fact still know you under the same name? If you still do business with all of them the same way you did before, why would it "not have anything to do" with your current business?

http://forums.tdiclub.com/showpost.php?p=4183442&postcount=80

[EDIT]: I forgot to mention there is only one way you would know that some review on Yelp is "in the process of being taken off"...

I honestly didn't know what to think if it was another alias or someone trying actually trying to make fun of him I mean with the "activities" referred to in number 1 and having location listed as Mendocino County is frankly hilarious!! :)

For those not familiar with the area here's a little help:

Hey guys,
Just a heads up. I'm starting to get complaints and reports about this thread from numerous sources. I haven't said much about it but have been monitoring it from afar. What I have seen so far is a news article cause speculation and rumors which are quickly spiraling out of hand.

Having read the entire thread, I have not so far seen one piece of evidence that ties Shaz's business to the marijuana case, other than it was in the same building and he shut down. Considering that cannabis is legal in California the only real obstruction here is that the growers were busted for growing and distributing without a license. It happens all the time. This has no bearing on his relationship to TDIClub or the quality of his business.

You have a right to your opinion and to express your experiences, positive or negative, no one is denying that. Whether or not his company is licensed under a different name or is covered under the various legal business acronyms means very little on this forums, as we have people working on vehicles all the time without said licenses and the same feedback is welcome for them as well.

That being said, I will not stand for trolling on this forum from either side. We are a community who supports and gives opinion and feedback. I have seen this thread spiral down from questioning a news article to heavy debates and arguing back and forth about moot points from both sides. My suggestion to those of you contributing to this thread is that you find a way to turn this hostility around into something more productive, or I will lock the thread. Those who continue to troll or cause negativity among our peaceful community will be banned.

Even though emotions can run high and validations can feel necessary to prove a point, I'm offering an opportunity to find a less passive-agressive means to expressing your opinions and revert this thread back to something more productive to our community. It's your choice.

Ah, not completely. Only for a narrow restricted use: "medical" (which wasn't what was happening at that grow)

Only in Washington and Colorado is it legal for non-medical use right now.

hence the rest of the statement about growing without a license, ergo the illegality of it, ergo the building shut down. :p This does not negate the fact that cannabis is still legal in CA, specificity aside. Growing also has has no direct bearing on the customer service value of the mechanical work performed on our TDI's at this shop while it was still open. Therefore, arguing over whether or not he is now currently a licensed mechanic under a different alias is irrelevant to his given rights to pursue his own happiness and open a business. If it is shady, then that will shine, if it's legit, then that too will shine.

I'm sure he is well aware of the economic implications of this association and it only makes sense that he would relocate and rename his business in an attempt to reestablish roots. The quality of customer service received is subjective under any condition at any shop. Those who have had done business with him have the right to express their opinions on the quality of work and customer service done. If the company owes debts or has left the customer unsatisfied, then take it up with him directly and provide constructive feedback on the forum.

The point being that the building that a company on our trusted mechanics list was shut down due to an illegal growing ring that we have no solid evidence to link Shaz to, thereby shaking our trust in the company and causing doubt to spread like wildfire. This doubt has now become toxic and arguments have veered from the topic and have even been written with mild hostility in defense of varying positions. Leave the hostility and defensiveness (from all parties involved) out of it, it's unproductive and toxic.

From my perspective, I really don't care about the pot grow or Shaz's legal troubles.

Shaz has and continues to register alias accounts to respond to members and give himself shoutouts. This has been confirmed with 100% matching IP searches on more than one occasion. Additionally, he is touting his business on the forums without registering as a vendor.

I say we lock this thread since it isn't doing anybody any good. If Shaz wants to participate on the forums, he can register as a vendor and follow the rules. That's it... Pretty simple.

That sums it up quite nicely. I registered as a vendor myself. And I've never had to use an alias account to promote myself... I'm also fairly certain that registering and using multiple accounts is in itself a ban-able offense. It is certainly very misleading at the very least.
