Took 15 business days from VW portal account creation to appointment scheduling. Would have even been less as a couple of those days, the site was waiting for me to respond.

Good work VW!

For those with delays, it helps to get the documents right the first time.

I am guessing you don't have a loan.

Nobody likes to admit that they are at least partially the cause of their own problems.

You're gonna need to tighten that one up a bit to fit in a fortune cookie.

My return went off without a hitch. I submitted my paperwork, got approval and offer in a short manner, set up my drop-off date and time, returned car to VW and three days later had my money deposited in my bank acct.

I was a bit nervous about the EFT and tried to change it to receive a check but that would have made my whole process reset and I'd have to start over.

I'm not sure why some are having such a horribly long wait time but I suspect VW is swamped with requests.

Hmm...I'm not planning on returning until December 2018; just wanted to be good to go with the buyback in case circumstances change.

Would it help you if I keep booking appointments and not showing up?

I suspect a lot of the problems stem from the owners not navigating the process correctly.

Probably a business opportunity there...like an H&R Block type thing...take a 10% cut to successfully handle the paper work.

Once again I am guessing you didn't have a lien on your car. People without loans have been going through pretty quickly.

No people who have been going through quickly don't have loans. People with loans have been taking a long time. Also you are an idiot.

Other than a couple of people who didn't upload the full offer letter I don't think too many people didn't do the process correctly. He is just trying to get people angry.

I'm going to let you in on a little secret...many of the people on this forum blaming VW for the processing delay are not admitting that they aren't helping the process go smoothly.

No they had loans. VW is doing the people without liens first. I am sure I am much smarter than you. You think going on a forum and telling people they are stupid is good fun. How does that make you smarter?

I am not in a rush to have my car bought back so I am not stressed that mine took longer than yours. The longer I wait the more cash I get. In January it will nets me 18,500 in February 19,000. And I only have 30k on my car and it is still under warranty.

my process went smoothly (well i haven't actually turned in my car yet....rescheduled that for next year) - but i also didnt' have a loan. its pretty clear the process is mostly painless for those without loans......loans are the main issue that is holding things up.

You suspect wrong. I had a VW Credit loan, had all my documents correct the first time and didn't receive an offer until last week. Which if you look at the spreadsheet there were hundreds of people who submitted documents after me and received offers before me. Which equates to about 50,000 submitting after me and receiving offers before me. Would that frustrate you?

No doubt some are being impacted by delays in VWoA receiving loan payoff amounts from lienholders...but in the case of those who financed outside of VW, those delays can't all be dumped on VW's doorstep.
