I'm trying to find a good VW mechanic in the Fredericton area, Moncton and SJ work too.

You might want to call Paul at First Stop Auto (506 674-9900) in Saint John.
Paul and Tim have both been working on VW and audi's for many years.

Thanks man! I'm trying to avoid the dealerships. Freddy dealership is ok, no complaints, BUT SJ VW is a different thing! Worst experience ever buying a car and worst experience with service! Thanks for the heads up.

In case you misunderstood, First stop Auto is NOT a VW dealership, but they have plenty of VW experience.

you might also be interested in Atlantic discount import parts. Dan's been doing my repairs that i can't do for about 25 years.very knowledgeable, personable and fair in his prices.phone # 506-858-8818. he is in the moncton area

I'll be travelling in NB next week, and possibly again in February. Can anyone update the info regarding a TDI specialist in this area? Namely, does First Stop Auto in Saint John, and Atlantic Discount Import Parts in Moncton still employ people who can competently wrench a TDI?

Any other recommendations, (specifically along Canada 2 and Province route 11) this hard traveler will welcome.

Hello all

I am visiting relatives here in St John, NB. My mother-in-law needs a transmission fluid change and a CEL diagnosis. The dealer tried to rip her off by suggesting a $690 headlight assembly to replace the connector, translation-theft. Any trusted shops?
