Golf/Jetta overhead dome light conversion to W8 Passat Dome Light . . .

2003 and 2004 Jedi Wagon 5spd TDI • 2012 Audi A3 Sportback Auto TDI
My old 2003 Golf had one and now got one for my 2003 Jetta Wagon. 5 wires going into 3 wires. Anyone have done this knowcwhich are the correct wires? Even my Stereo installer has no clue. Thanks.

I believe clusters by litke has a ready made harness for that one.

Yeah, and they also sell black ones which are otherwise impossible to find these days. I think he sends them to get professionally painted. I have one and it looks OEM, though to a trained eye you can tell it's not the exact same soft touch coating.

Not the same soft touch coating isn't really a bad thing... lol

It feels like a "gel" paint. I'm not sure how better to describe it. It definitely feels thicker than the OEM soft touch finish, and it has a rubbery-ness to the touch. It looks perfect, though. All the white areas are still visible and there's no bleed over anywhere, so when you turn it on in the dark, everything still looks as expected. I've always liked having the extra red LED's of the W8 version that illuminate the center console, shifter, etc.

Yeah, I'm hoping to get lucky some day and find a w8 passat in a junkyard... someone locally had a w8 wagon in Stonehenge grey... I haven't seen it for a while. I'm waiting for it, lol.
