Looking for any fellow club members that may own a Golf Alltrack 6MT that could give me an honest review of the car.

I have been considering one for awhile just not a huge fan of petrol burners. I would be looking at S models only with no pano.

I drive about 40k a year and usually split it between two different vehicles while my sportwagen hibernates for the winter.

Thanks
Paul

Get a wagon with the 1.4T and you'll be happy, and worry less about the engine.

But finding a 1.4 will be challenging.

I have a 2017 Jetta with the 1.4T, very impressive little engine. 5spd only, but if that ever fails the newer cars came with 6spd trans that bolt right on.

It rivals my Passat on fuel economy when 100% highway driving.

Yeah - my wife's A3 e-tron has that 1.4T in it and once the hybrid battery has been depleted and we're running on ICE only, it runs around 6.1L/100km vs. around 5.5L/100km from my same MQB (as the A3) Mk7 GSW TDI. And it's a fun little car to drive.

No firsthand experience with the AllTrack, but it obviously has double the drivetrain components (rear diff/haldex, drive shafts, etc.) as a FWD car; and those need servicing on occasion, so...cost of ownership is going to be higher. You can lift a Mk7 GSW so it rides up like a AllTrack; run the taller AllTrack's tires, etc. to get a little more ground clearance. I love the idea of the AllTrack, but the practical side of me always makes too many very valid points about why the upsides are of little value for me.

Of course, your situation maybe be different and you have a 10% grade, 800m driveway you have to get up and down twice a day, so....YMMV.
