I know the area well as I have motorcycle friends in Oberhausen/Rheinhausen.

Great roads to the west and southwest, and into France as well. Very little traffic during the weekdays. The 500 through Mummelsee to the south is a good drive as well.

Johanniskreuz is a popular meeting place.

Also the Pfälzer and Badener are very freindly. Dave, when are you coming out this way again? I got the contact for a tour of VW Stöcken.
