im on a mission now. With an AHU engine, hopefully a intake from whitbread 520 injectors and a small long fmic i am in need of a beefy but high spooling turbo to satify my hunger for power.
The problem is i dont have that many tools and it seems no one lives near wisconsin so i need the switch to be laid out before i do it.

the plan is to hit 180-200 with mods and a viable turbo, These are the one i think could work so tell me why im wrong!

1. K03/K04 hybrid from kerma
2. S/T 1956 from street toys
3. vnt-17/22 from tdi parts
4. S/T 1856V from street toys

Ps: i know about shorter exhaust mani's but dont know how much it will help and what turbos actually fit. A 11mm pump is also in the plan but not till i find more reliable info on where to get one and the install.

you should have me go thru your cylinder head and freshen it up.a good hi flow multi angle valve job and mild clean up will help alot.

Im actually planning on installing stronger pistons with a oil vent so i guess i could send it off before i get the parts. how much you charge?

Good choice on the 17/22. I'm guessing you did a bit of searching for "Street Toys" and decided against theirs!

You will also need a 90 degree right angle silicone coupler with a 2.25 opening on one side and preferably a 2.75 inch opening on the other, and an aluminum 2.75 inch 90 degree L pipe with at least 10 inches one one leg. This will put the intake right were the stock intake elbow is and connect right up to the stock intake flex hose.

I used a 2.5 in version of the above and had to put a peice rubber coupler to take up the space.

to connect the turbo to the intercooler pipe, I used a 2in 45 degree silicone coupler with long, like 6 inch ends, connected to an aluminum 90 degree mandrill bend.

I went the VNT 20 jeep liberty route which I believe uses the exact same coldside housing as yours, these connections plubed the turbo in so that it looks stock.

These couplers and pipes along with Tbolt clamps can be found on ebay, I bought them through CXracing.com in black, the final product looks like it could have come that way stock.

BTW I highly recomend VWMIKEL to provide the tune.

Thanks for the advice, i already built in a custom intercooler and intake setup and have some spare 4ply silicon sitting around that might work if i get in trouble along with aluminum. As for stock, i really dont care what my car looks like, hell so long as it does what i want it could just be a seat with four wheels and an engine :) Also my plan is to go through rocketchip for the tune and i hope the VNT-20 goes well i hear thats a really good turbo to, thanks for the tips!!

lets just say,i'll give you more porting w/ a basic valve job than most charge for just a freshen up.for some reason i just can't cut valve seats and leave all those sharp edges in the port.
pm me your phone # and we can talk.

I'm going for the same thing but I've got a slightly larger turbo than yours. Mine is a 2056 from a Mercedes ML320 CDI. They come with 224hp stock. :) I'm thinking I can get an easy 220-240whp out of this turbo but I'm sticking to 180-200whp to get good mileage out of the turbo.

You sir need to get a welder! You have WAYYYYYY to many silicone connectors in there and holy worm gear clamps Batman! Any ways. I just got my adapter pipe made up and now I just need to finish the flange for it and it's mounted. Next comes withe downpipe/exhaust and then my intercooler install. Not really sure how you are going to mount that vnt onto your car but good luck with it. Is yours a one piece with the manifold integrated into it or is it just the turbo? I'll have more pics up on my flickr account soon.

I'd me more worried about your tranny than the pistons in all seriousness. VW trannies fail fairly often because they are complete crap.

We're having no issues with our StreetToys turbo from KermaTDI... Maybe 20,000 miles down the road too...

So you're putting a VNT on an AHU? Maybe I've been out of the loop too long, maybe I'm just thick (wouldn't be the first time and won't be the last) but how are you doing that?

Over the pond the MK3's came with VNT style turbos. VWMikel is of course a awesome guy and has made me some software using the vase MK3 VNT European software. All you have to do is swap in a MK4 N75 and of course the turbo and you are good to go. :) I've got a thread on here for my build, I'll post up new pics in it soon which will bump it up again. I've been really lazy and not motivated to work on it lately.
