Did they explain what EG#4 is? Given the title of your thread....glow plug (?).
(Never seen it abbreviated as such)

But if so, yeah - replacing a glow plug is simply a matter of unplug, unscrew, re-screw, re-plug. Might have to move some other bits out of the way to gain access.

What year and car? I can’t see your vehicle on my phone if it is listed. I have no idea what an EG#4 is, maybe your mechanic should explain that. Has your mechanic ever worked on VW diesels before?
