I broke my 2000 Jetta's glovebox because of the broken airbrake/brake element (a common problem), and I decided to upgrade.
Starting in 2003, gloveboxes were much larger, so I ordered one. The glove box only comes with the door and the box; no rubber floor insert, no light switch, no light, and no brake element.
I ordered up a new one for a 2003 from 1stVWParts.com. According to the helpful sales person, is was replaced with a all-encompassing part number for 2000-2005 models. The one I recieved is identical to the 2000 brake element that was in my old glovebox. The 2003 model appears to need a geared wheel brake. The salesperson couldnt help me because acording to his EKTA there is only one part number.
Does anyone have the partnumber for the brake that I need? Does anyone know the proper part for a 2003 glovebox?
