Maybe they've implemented some cross-checking of VINs recently--it would make sense for them to do so, but a few weeks ago, at least, they weren't doing that.

When you say you resubmitted under a different e-mail address, how did you do that?

I tried to go to the site and do it, but it asked me for the VIN and said "sorry that VIN is already registered to another account" or something like that.
Maybe that's why mines been stuck. I had no issue registering my VIN again.

Worked yesterday. Maybe if they know it is a duplicate your other submission is getting some attention... Maybe

Welp, it's official. The government is faster than VW. That's a huge statement.

Both processes started at about the same time, and my Humvee title will be showing up before my VW gets sold back.

I received an error message like that when I tried entering my VIN into my existing claim portal account where the car is already registered, but yours is the first case I've heard of a VIN being rejected under a new account.

In fact, just yesterday, a forum member reported successfully doing this. It makes sense you could, since an affected vehicle can have more than one claim against it (more than one affected owner).

So I took the plunge and made another claim using a 2nd email address yesterday. This is actually humorous.

2:09 P.M. - Account validation email
2:25 P.M. - Reference number email
2:33 P.M. - Buyback option confirmation email
3:16 P.M. - Reviewing documents submission email
11:15 P.M. - Accepted documents submission email

So on the first claim, it took me 6 weeks to get me to step 15. Yesterday with the new claim, it took me a little over 9 hours.

Well, I was about to restart the whole process, and I got an email this morning, step 16! The numbers are a little lower than they should be, but I finally got the offer letter, after resubmitting the same damned documents they rejected back in October.

I called today about mine after sitting on Step 15 since mid November and they said there is no time frame for when the offer will be sent. They have zero information and were zero help. Guess I'll call one of the attorneys next.

You're probably not too far behind me. Check my sig. A little more patience. They'll more than likely be getting to you in the next week or two.

I could never do a reset on my account, but this morning I got my offer letter. So it is possible that it meant they were processing mine!

Nope, they're not getting their act together (at least, not in my case).

First, they claim that they have no record of me calling them (on Dec 12) to ask for a replacement of the lost dealer card with the remaining balance on it (what a bunch of liars! I feel like being robbed at gunpoint and, sadly, am limited in what I can do to prove them wrong -- other than the AT&T bill).

Second, I heard nothing from them since I uploaded all the documents (five weeks ago). Absolutely nothing.

I am determined to move away from VAG cars; which is sad, given that I owned several (4) of their vehicles over the years, including a much-liked 1988 Audi 90). I am not married to an object, any object, and there are very good cars out there.
