If you live near PA (MD, NY, NJ, DE, VA, OH..) and you're considering a DPF Delete to maximize the performance and economy of your tdi, talk to Les or Ryan at German Diesel Motorwerks in Mt Pleasant Mills, PA (north of Harrisburg). I'm not a tuner nut or anything, but I got the dreaded P0401 Code 2 months ago (2010 JSW tdi, 125k miles, DSG transmission) and was faced with some expensive options to replace my Diesel Particulate Filter and EGR Filter..such weak emissions systems in these tdi VWs!
Why replace these components and risk having another loss in performance, Check Engine Light, etc. all over again when you could remove them, and unleash some untapped MOJO!? Add some hardware / software and get an immediate transformation..amazing and worth the investment!
Thank you gentlemen, excellent work!

Best reason is because it's against the law............

It's cool you are thrilled about your new ride, but these guys are right. Don't bring unnecessary attention to the shop regarding deletes unless they gave you permission.

Remember, the second you drive that on a street you're breaking a federal law. You are now considered "Off Road Use Only"

Les doesn't have a problem with it. People need to relax a bit!

Why is it that only forum newbies catch so much flack for these things?

Les may have a problem with it, but in the future he might...........lets stop broadcasting this stuff. Les and you can do anything you want but, you don't need to tell the whole world about it.

I completely see the point of not broadcasting these things. Leaving a rat link makes me cringe though.

Let's remember that we are a community of friends driving some of the more environmentally friendly vehicles available.

We all should use this form to report the EPA fro releasing all that contaminated water from that gold mine. That killed all the fish in that stream for miles!!
Now that's funny!

I remember back in about 1980 there way a place here that specialized in removing crappy emission controls from Fiats. Illegal? Yes, but the laws back then had no teeth yet.

All I'm really saying is if your are doing something contrary to mandated laws, keep it under your hat.

Point taken. Les is a great guy and doesn't need that kind of headache.

That very unfortunate situation does not justify anything posted about TDI emission control elimination. Nor does any other environmental catastrophe. If that were the case we should just sanction the Exon Valdez as an excuse or any other environmental disaster to do what we think is inconsequential and move on into our excuses for why we as TDI owners should just drive on without any pollution controls. If that was the case we would all be breathing the air that China has. Lets just pollute the air we breath with what ever suits us and find an excuse for doing it. Let's just get rid of the EPA and other environment controls. Hell man it's free county right! Friendly fire has killed many in combat. Should we just eliminate the armed forces so that can't happen again?

One more time here. It's starting to get old following his worship about these"Les is a great guy" statements. I think Les has read this stuff and he should make a couple of comments here about his worship from his customers. Maybe we should rename this forum to Les is the Man club. We could dump our founder Fred and move on eh? Then Les could be the messiah.
Don't make me backtrack through all the threads for every time Les is mentioned but, I will if I have to.

CNG's comment. Les has earned the respect so many here have for him. He is an honest, and unusually competent shop owner. If that bothers you, that's your problem.

That is my point. He is an honest, and unusually competent shop owner. Take his illegal modifications comments to his website as he is not the only one that does what he does there are many others that do the same work and nobody makes the same kind of big deal out of it. ;)

You sound confused. My suggestion: get some sleep. That's my plan.

Everyone entering and leaving our shop is made aware of the law. I have spoken to the OP. Sorry for the all the hate and lets keep these forums civil. The "club" here is great and we do financially support it, but the law is the law "whether pure politics or otherwise". Doing research is free and encouraged as to what does and doesn't constitute clean air.

My 2 Cents
