So looking at idparts for gear oil and I see that they have 75w90 and 75w140.
Is there any benefit to the 75w140?
I'm not sure what to think, thinking maybe I could get 2 of the 75w90 and one of the 75w140 if there's any benefit.

Curious what the concensus is on using the higher weight at any quantity. I generally live in the eastern USA and presently traveling around the west coast.
Desert conditions and towing make me think adding 1 of each and topping off with 75w90 might be ideal.

Thoughts, facts, what do you think?

I think they are both considerably thicker than the specified mtf. I've had great luck with Pennzoil syncromesh.
