In my 03' jetta tdi under my gas pedal, theres a plastic peg that sticks out of the floor preventing my pedal from hitting the floor. could i take it off? And if I do, will it do anything to my car?

Maybe your parents installed it :D heh...

Mine has a similar piece except that mine compresses when the gas pedal hits it. I've never found its technical name but what it does is once compressed it allows your engine to accelerate to just under redline before it shifts to the next gear. For mine I believe thats around 4900rpm. If that isn't what you're talking about then I'm not sure what else it could be other than what I first suggested :)

Thanks, I think I'll stick with gas pedal, though...

as far as newer TDIs - they are drive by wire. from what i've read in similiar discussions, removing the pedal stop does nothing, as maximum fuel quantity is determined by the computer.

In my circle it is perfectly acceptable to use accelerator in casual
conversation. Perhaps you need an upgrade!:)
