The high pressure pump by the engine bay, or the in tank pump?

You have to purge the air out of the system. Easiest way is using VCDS, ask the fuel pump to run for 15 seconds or so.

No VCDS, can't hear the new pump? Before you open the tank again, which can be messy, just disconnect at the fuel filter and use a catch can, cycle the key and have a look how much it comes out.

I haven't deal with this on the 2015, but it seems like the line on the right/front (when looking at it) is coming from the back of the car (tank)

Cycle the key many times to make sure nothing comes out, before you had to reopen the tank.
If fuel does come out, then cycle a little more until no air come out, reconnect and cycle a few more times as you probably have air in the rail too. Then, without VCDS you will have to crank for some time until all the air is out, and it fires back up.
