Hello to all,

So, I am a day late and a few bucks short!
Looking at the 2micron unit- this was an awesome design, though from what I am reading the member no longer makes these.

Is there any other setup on the market that offers 1- 2 micron fuel filtering WITH the high pressure fuel pump protection like 2micron’s unit?

Thank you for your time.

Well the problem that 2micron was trying to solve was the exploding CP4 fuel pumps, which he did by initially with his filter setup however the better solution was found which was the CP3 pump. No need for high pressure filtering on the CP3 because a failure does not put debris in the high pressure rail.
There are many good spin on kits that can use various filtering options for the low pressure input.
I would mention that most stock VW fuel filters do pretty good as long as you change them regularly.

For sure- so just did the cr170 last week, trying to avoid a household feud by spending another 800+ on a fuel pump just yet…. Figure the cp4 has had fuel additives since 9k miles and just hit 55k, can roll the dice for a bit longer…

Factory Fuel filter is changed every 20k, just looking for a bit extra if it’s out there.

To be honest, the CP4 pumps work fine until they fail. Your low mileage is a plus and it will likely not run out of fuel with the 170hp build. Just keep an eye on the fuel filter and at the first sign of ANY metal debris, replace it!! However the rarely give you much warning and there does not seem to be any pattern to when they fail so it is like the schrodinger cat paradox! Lol
