This is the "Freeway Flyer" trans as some call it, I guess because of the gear ratio being higher then the standard 02j transmission. They are getting rarer all the time and this is a good one. About 160k on it. Out of a 5.5 Jetta
I want $650.00 plus shipping for this one. Call me at 541-980-1466

Found this thread searching for a OA4 case half. Don't need a whole trans but thought you should know the 05.5 Jetta came with a OA4 trans. While it is nearly the same as an 02J, it lacks a speed sensor or a hole to stick it in, the MKV it came out of uses the ABS sensors for that function. Most MKV PDs are GQQ but it seems from the info you posted the ratios are the same as this JCR.

Anyone with an older MKIV or previous gen will be bummed if they buy this and have no speed sensor.

GLWS though!

plus, not much different then the EGR which is standard. :) Should be an upgrade to gassers though.

I have an EUH and could use the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th out of it. I think mating the JCR and the EUH together could be a good box for a modified engine..

3rd is only a tiny bit taller in the jcr all the other gears the same between the two with the exception of fifth ... hardly worth splitting the cases for such a minuscule change ... prob worth more to sell as a replacement for the BRM GQQ

I like the FBW trans in my TDI.

I machined 5th gear from that box to become 4th gear and added a .622 5th, all of this with the 3.16 differential and Peloquin is absolutely perfect! Long and strong acceleration in all gears! (225 hp motor). Not for stock for sure!

For a stock motor, I would think the EUH (or JCR gears in an O2J) would be a nice upgrade + .658 or so 5th.

again, not really an upgrade as every gear 1-4 and final drive is the same aside from a tiny bit taller third which you probably would never notice .... the numbers don't lie, look at the chart

I agree one would probably not really notice it much, but if tinkering around and you happen to have parts laying around and the will, why not!??! Throw in the 3.16 differential while you are at it, and one would definitely see adifference. (I sure did).
