I just acquired an 03 CR DCTD 2500 Quad cab 2WD and the onboard computer displays >23 mpg with mixed highway/city and I have to be heavier and the engine is much bigger being a 5.9 as compared to a 3.0. Could it be the newness, DPF regen., or would it be the AWD factor? Just curious. Later!
Yes, it's still available. I have it listed at $4400 or best offer on eBay. I'm looking to get $4000 for it.AlanH70 said:is it sold? i see it is listed on ebay still....you taking offers?

Thanks for looking
It sold yesterday for $3800. The purchaser has contacted me to make arrangements but it has not been picked up yet.AlanH70 said:I put a bid on ebay for it but it came back not accepted...i wonder if the person who won it actually follwed through and purchased it.

I looked back through this thread... You started out asking $7200, dropped to $6000, dropped to $4800, dropped to $4000, and finally found a buyer at $3800.
I have been telling people that seasonally this is a good time to buy a TDI., and your experience confirms this. Seasonally, this is the time of year when gasoline is cheapest compared to diesel. Fuel prices are still reasonable, so there's no rush to get into a more efficient car. Some people worry about cold starting, so there's at least a little trepidation about buying a car today that might not start tomorrow. And of course people are focusing on the holidays -- they are buying new shiny things, not previously-owned things no matter how practical they might be.
Typically, the period from late fall to mid-winter is a weak period for TDI demand and prices. When gasoline prices rise in the spring, so does interest in TDI ownership.
For most people the recession is still a fact of life. So for seasonal and secular reasons it sucks to be selling a TDI now but it's the best time to shop for a used TDI.
