1997 VW Passat
Vw installed motor has 180k miles, car has 301k, mostly highway @65mph. averages 47 mpg combined, over 50 on the highway. good, well maintained commuter car. no leaks or funny smells inside. 5 speed. starts, runs and drives good. no CEL. Mike at M&M Auto & Cycle (well known TDI guru) did the timing belt, water pump and oil change at 295k, last April. new rear bilsteins at 283k. A/C was fixed and recharged by Mike at 282k , 6/14 , still works great. I bought the car in 06 when it had 161k miles. motor and trans have been rock solid. has frostheater, which works great on cold mornings. tires in good condition. wheels are 15" Borbet, few years old. some parts I have put in last few years- alternator , compressor, exhaust, brake cables, front right axle and bearing plus many other front end parts, alignment at 280k, new headliner, interior is nice , leather heated seats (currently not working), non-smoker, adult driven (grandma style). Nice powerful Sony cd/am/fm head unit, looks factory.pw/pl all glass is good.
Battery is 5 years old, still OK. Fog lights currently not working. Sunroof tilts up and closes but will not slide open. Left rear window stuck in the closed position, don't use it. some rust on the front fender wells. clearcoat is peeling on the hood and roof. rear main seal and egr are leaking slightly. was going to get them fixed this summer. have 1 or 2 oil filters, oil (T6) and a cabin filter to go with it. currently has a separate satellite radio, yours if you want it, otherwise I can take it out. looks good, though. recently passed ny state inspection. still registered but not for long. I just upgraded to a 2013. i'll deliver anywhere for $1 a mile plus tolls, round trip. car is sold AS IS. NO TRADES. CLEAN TITLE. PLEASE, SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY. Please text if interested 917-593-1673
Update, front rotors are slightly warped , pads are almost new. Rear pads are low.
