Posting for Lew:

If I understand correctly from his email, there is one rust spot on the front of the driver's door that just wouldn't photograph well and is not included in these pictures.

Lew is one of the experts here in what has been affectionately termed "the epicenter of TDI-dom." We here in Michigan (and a few from surrounding states) can vouch that Lew is a good TDI maintainer. He's been the host of quite a few GTG's. So despite some Michigan rust, the maintenance history is bound to have been good.

It should also be noted that what appears to be a bra in these pictures is a spray-on bedliner type of material. Looks pretty good, IMO.

Again...Thank you so much Dean for posting those pictures!

TdiYardie...I think the lack of working air would be a bigger issue than the Snow Tires!!! No worries there though....I'll knock $300 off if you don't want the snows....I have lots of relatives that could use them!!

I forgot to mention that the plastic air dam over the front of the sun roof is cracked! Yeah that was a sad oops!

Very nice even if it has that little rust on the door...

Bump, looks like a beauty!

(I have one B4 Variant in the not so red red:) )

Wow that's a really old picture! Is that from one of first GTG's at Hondo's Place in Hastings??

Thanks for the pictures. Rust does not look too bad. I am familiar with the Green Diamonds from my days in NY, and have worked on my B4's A/C before. I am going to work on my wife this weekend. She knows how much I miss my B4 and a B4 variant would make my year!!!

Ps, love the Bra... fooled me :D

I know the tank itself holds 18.5 gal. How much fuel can you can you get in there when it's fully vented? What kind of fuel economy do you get on average? How much HP & torque was added with the Wett chip?

Sale pending

Had someone look at it last night and I found: The pass side rear door window switch does not work  But the windows go up/down with the Key and the switch on the dash.
On the good side....I forgot that it has a full sized spare:D
But I've got an offer on it that I'll accept on Tues so I'll let you know!

Ripster...."spray a fake bra on my new Sportwagen and send you a picture"....I remember how worried I was going to my very first GTG with that thing after you had been reamed a new one for putting a fake bra on your Golf!!!!! You were extremely gracious as I recall;)

Jasonh....vented I've got a little over 25 gallons. My fuel economy was usually in the lower 40's but that was often with roof rack on and either ski's or kayaks on the roof. So I usually figured on a range of 1000+ miles!! If I recall acurately....the Wett chip brought it from 90hp to 110hp and torque from 140ft/lbs to 170ft/lbs. Compared to a chipped & injectored A4 it is crude and a dog, compared to my new Sportwagen it's quite crude and slow with antiquated brakes.....But I loved it none the less

you make it sound like your ex wife vs you're new young girlfriend.

(not that this is the Real-Life actual case of said person).

B4 Variants do have 25 gallons+ in fuel tank capacity...

Yes, the B4 wagons are heavy BUT useful like a large bank account
(~3.800lbs)

Close to 45 MPG's is a normal number per gallon :) .

Good luck!

Yes Congrats to Clay.....and yes I was a little tearful....many, many good memories with that car so I hope you get many more Clay!

Now I gotta figure out how to make a donation to Fred, without him I sure wouldn't have ever met so many great people because I never would have bought another VW!!

I filled her up when I got back to Lansing.......it still had about 6 gallons left-but I wanted to test the "25 gallon" capacity.......

sure enough it took over 18 gallons........which is more than the total capacity of my B4 sedan........so thats pretty cool......

also-just so happens that one of our cats names is "Pearl" and the color of the B4V is "Pearl Red".......

cat is black though........

oh yeah-and it rides/drives real nice......Lew had put the Bilstein TCs on-and WOW thats a nice ride.......

I have the TC's on my A4 jetta-and I HATE the ride.........

its amazing that the same struts/shocks can be so lousy on one car-but a great ride in another.......

It does ride nice! Thats why I had you drive down that really rough road by my house! Now I'm thinking I should have taken the Sportwagen down that road just for a comparison......hmmmmm! Maybe I should wait till I get the skidplate....wish the new ones had the ground clearance of the mighty B4V!!!
