Yes, I owned it. The high pressure fuel pump blew up, contaminating the fuel system. The VW dealer service dept. opened up the motor to inspect and then proceeded to leave the car outside, hoodless while waiting a long time for parts. Needless to say water got in, rusted the cylinders and I was accused of putting contaminated fuel in the car. The insurance company bought it and paid for a brand new motor. They then proceeded to install the clutch backwards, which I drove for 18000 or so miles, wondering why it sucked so bad until it failed completely. Thus necessitating a new clutch and parts.

Your not doing it wrong. Just depends on traffic to the site. Nice looking and low mileage so just bump it every couple days to keep it at the top of the recents list

So the car has been declared a total loss from the insurance company and they still went ahead a put a motor in it? I’m mildly interested. Do you have paperwork on all repairs?
