• The TDIClub classifieds section is a heavily trafficked section of the forum that encompasses want-to-buy (WTB) and for-sale (FS) threads for the entire world. Due to the demanding nature and fast pace of this section, it is imperative that you know and understand the rules. It is also important to remember that this is the only parts classifieds section.

Cross-posting and posting classifieds in the regional sections (except the dedicated thread in Ontario) is not permitted.

Multiple items should be sold in one thread. Make sure to provide a description for all items in your post along with pictures and prices. If you start multiple threads with individual items, they will be locked or combined at the discretion of the moderators.

Here is a quick outline of the classifieds section rules. If you don't follow these rules, you subject yourself to thread deletion, thread combination, infractions, or posting privilege revocation.

    Thread titles:
    • Put FS or WTB in your thread title. This will let other users know if you are selling or buying.
    • Briefly describe what you are selling. Thread titles have limited space. Be as descriptive, yet succinct, as possible.
    • Put your location in the title.
    • If space allows, put your price in the title

Title example (single item): "FS: 2004 Mk4/BEW cylinder head - Portland, OR - $500"
Title example (multiple items): "FS: MK6 fog lights, front bumper, headlights, grill - Detroit, MI"
Title example (car part-out): "FS: Mk3 Jetta parting out engine & interior - Dallas, TX"

    Thread text descriptions and pictures:
    • All for-sale threads must include pictures of the items that you are selling. One picture is sufficient, but multiple pictures with different angles will help buyers. A picture is worth a thousand words. If you don't know how to post pictures on TDIClub, see this thread: http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=286691
    • All for-sale threads must include a description. We don't charge per-word, so be as descriptive as possible. The more information you can provide, the easier it will be for buyers.
    • All for-sale threads must include a price. Auctions and bidding are not allowed. If you want to auction something off, use eBay.
No picture, no price, NO SALE!

    Thread maintenance/updates/bumps:
    • When you sell something, update your thread with "SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title.
    • If you have multiple items for sale, update your thread as each item has been sold. When everything has been sold, updated the thread with "ALL ITEMS SOLD!" Moderators will close the thread and update the title when all items have been sold.
    • If you bump your thread, please delete old bumps by clicking on EDIT and then deleting the old bump. This will reduce clutter in your thread and make it easier to read. It also makes you look less desperate.
    • If you drop your price, please update your first post in addition to posting the new price. If you would like the thread title changed, click on the report post icon and let a moderator know what you would like the title changed to.

    Moderator intervention and infraction points:
Moderators will be monitoring the classifieds section. If a moderator determines that you have not been following the rules listed above, corrections will be made and infraction points will be assessed to your account.

What is an infraction point? Simple - it's a system of keeping track of user behavior. A moderator can assign a point value based on the severity of the infraction, as well as an expiration date on the points assessed. If you accumulate a certain number of points, the system will auto-ban you for a predefined amount of time. The more points you accumulate, the longer your ban period will be.

One example of points is as follows: multiple threads will be combined into a single thread, with the number of infraction points assessed corresponding to the number of threads merged. If we merge four threads into one, then you will be assessed four points that expire in 30 days. When you reach five points, the system will auto-ban you for one day.*

*This is an example based on the current infraction system structure. We reserve the right to modify the infraction system at any time without notice or updates to this announcement.

Thank you for your cooperation, and good luck with your sales and searches! :)

All,

My beloved 2000 Golf got rear ended last month. She's totaled, and I'm looking at moving into an MK6. Impact trashed the hatch, rear bumper, and both taillights. Pushed the rear of the car to the point where both rear doors bind (but operate).

Car is in exceptional running condition and I have UOAs (scattered over the last few years). Front and rear suspension new within past 10k miles, brakes new all the way around, CV axles, front bearings and hubs at the same time. Everything on the car works with the exception of the rear passenger window. Driver window lock makes noise when working but works.

This car is in too nice of shape and has too many good parts for me to send her to the crusher. Car comes with skid plate and brackets, spare set of cheap tires on steel wheels, and the original cylinder head. The one that's in it was rebuilt by Frank in MO after a broken timing belt smashed the valves in the original. Current timing belt was put in at 239K along with new clutch and new oil pan (skid plate went in about the same time...).

I have a clean title in my name but post insurance proceedings the car will be on an Oklahoma JUNK title, in my name.

Is it a salvage title or certificate of destruction title?

I believe salvage can be repaired and rebranded to rebuilt title. Certificate of destruction is exactly that, it can never be a road going vehicle again.

Sounds like your equivalent would be certificate of destruction.

Salvage titles are issued in OK for damage between 60 and 79 percent of vehicle value and can be rebranded to rebuilt if the vehicle is less than ten years old.

Legal text below, straight from state statute.

(a)Junked title defined. A junked vehicle is any vehicle which is incapable of operation or use on the highway, has no resale value except as a source of parts or scrap and has an eighty percent (80%) loss in fair market value.(b)Out-of-state junked titles; junked title permanent classification. Any vehicle which is a junked vehicle or is specified as a junked vehicle or the equivalent thereof on a certificate of title from another state is to receive an Oklahoma Junked Title. Once a Junked Title is issued on a vehicle, it will remain as such permanently.(c)Procedure for cancellation of title for junked vehicle. The owner of any vehicle which is incapable of operation or use on the public roads and has no resale value except as parts, scrap or junk, may deliver the certificate of title to the Oklahoma Tax Commission, accompanied by an Affidavit for Cancellation of Oklahoma Title (OTC Form 701-8). Upon verification that any perfected lien against the vehicle has been released and the registration is current, the certificate of title shall be cancelled. There is no charge to the vehicle owner for this cancellation. If unable to cancel the title, an explanation will be returned to the submitting owner.(d)Subsequent transfer of ownership of vehicle for which title has been cancelled. Once a title is cancelled, no subsequent title or registration may be issued. Any subsequent transfers of ownership will be done so on a certificate of ownership (OTC Form 766). The format of this certificate is prescribed by the Oklahoma Tax Commission and furnished to all motor license agencies. Any form which contains all the information listed on the Oklahoma Tax Commission form will be acceptable.(e)Inspection for absence of vehicle identification number. If there is no public VIN on the vehicle, it shall be inspected by a law enforcement officer to verify the absence of the number and the corresponding statement shall be signed by the officer on the certificate of ownership.(f)Transfer of ownership for vehicles over ten model years old, or vehicles being sold to a scrap metal dealer, for which title is lost, cancelled or not available. Any vehicle over ten model years old which is not roadworthy and not capable of repair for operation or use on the roads and highways, or a vehicle which is being sold to a scrap metal dealer pursuant to 2 O.S. § 11-92, and on which the certificate of title has been lost, cancelled or otherwise not available, shall also transfer ownership by use of the certificate of ownership. The scrap metal dealer shall not provide payment for the vehicle until the certificate of ownership has been submitted to the Oklahoma Tax Commission or a motor license agent, and the vehicle is determined not to be stolen. Use of this transfer of ownership form will result in cancellation of the Oklahoma title, if it has not already been done. Unless being sold to a scrap metal dealer as referenced above, if the vehicle is ten (10) model years or newer, a certificate of ownership may not be utilized unless the title has previously been cancelled.(g)Procedure for transfers by use of certificate of ownership. This certificate of ownership will be a three part form. The buyer and seller shall each retain a copy and within thirty (30) days of the transaction, the seller shall submit one copy to the Oklahoma Tax Commission or a motor license agent with the applicable fee. All requests for ownership transfer via certificate of ownership must be reviewed and approved by the Commission before processing. The Commission shall review the documentation and vehicle record to ensure the owner of record has submitted a properly completed certificate on an eligible vehicle. The record will be checked against NCIC files for the presence of a stolen vehicle record. If a stolen vehicle report is on file, the appropriate law enforcement agency will be contacted and the transaction will remain on hold, pending that agency's response. If an active lien is on file and the transaction is approved, the lienholder will be notified of the certificate of ownership transfer. If the transaction is not approved, an explanation will be returned to the submitting buyer and seller.

I wonder if it would be something that we could get a new title for. As a tow company, we can file for a title for a vehicle that is sitting in our impound lot (or on our property) it takes some time, but I don't know how that would work with a vehicle that has a junking certificate.

Oklahoma allows for the acquisition of a court ordered title for an untitled vehicle, but I don't think this would apply in the case of a vehicle that has an existing title. Your situation in MO may be different.

There are just too many to list....
That could likely be pulled out. Mine was more of a dead on square hit, but enough that the hatch wouldn't open and the tail lamp lenses were sticking out.... got it on the good ol' frame rack with the rear bumper cover off, and got it pulled back well enough you cannot even tell (other than the bumper cover itself still has a slight ridge in it, but that is easily replaced).

Hopefully someone will snatch this up.

Looking at the pictures,
that isn't damaged too bad at all.
Probably still drives real well.

Confirmed, drives fine. Just not going to be platable. Hated to see this happen to it. Been a lot of places in that car.

We discussed this in another thread. Plenty of states don't deal with that nonsense. My Golf has been totalled twice. Still driving it. Still legal.
I have you beat. 2004 Golf was totalled three times, and still sold it with a clean title (tax office told me I was fine). 1 x hail, 1 x live deer, 1 x dead deer/dead wild hog next day.
