1997 Passat TDI sedan (B4)
1.9l turbo Diesel
5-speed manual transmission
Clean title in hand.
207,000 miles.
Storm gray (LK7Y)
Runs and drives very smoothly.
48 mpg city, 54 mpg highway.
Smog exempt.
Registered through April 2019. No backfees.
Clean title in hand.
18.5 gallon fuel tank.
Paint in very good condition.
Power windows and locks.
Sunroof works fine. Its cloth cover is missing the plastic valance.
Aftermarket locking roof racks.
Folding rear seats work fine.
Strong cold AC.
Typical B4 issues - rear driver's side door handle won't work. Two very small ~1" repairable tears in otherwise great blue cloth interior. Small dents in trunk under license plate and driver's side top of wheelwells.
I am the second owner. Car was bought new and operated in Berkeley its whole life and was well cared for. Only OEM parts on it.
New (less than 500 miles):
G12++ coolant flush, new thermostat, o-ring, coolant T, o-ring, coolant temp sensor, o-ring (pics above).
Air and cabin filter.
Black full car cover.
Passenger side CV axle.
Serpentine belt tensioner (complete).
N75 valve (turbo wastegate pressure control valve).
Fuel filter.
Oil, oil filter, and magnetic oilpan drainplug.
LED trunk light.
Antenna and mast.
Vacuum pump o-ring.
Exhaust flex joint (at turbo downpipe).
ECU interior vacuum tubing.
No rust.
Good timing belt, serpentine and power steering belts all showing minimal wear. Timing in spec (see pic from my VAGCOM test Nov. 3rd).
Car is in exceptional shape for its age and I continue to fix things here and there as time allows. Ad will be accordingly updated.
On hand with the car now are some (currently uninstalled) new parts for preventative maintenance: two quarts of MT90 Redline transmission fluid and a new magnetic transmission drain plug, OEM plastic skidplate and fasteners, Mahle fuel filter, a new OEM valve cover gasket, and an extra power steering v-belt (present one is in excellent condition).
Entire car just detailed - very clean. I've cleaned up some grounds and no-oxed them (see pics).
Low ball offers will be ignored. Look around at comparable cars. Not in a hurry to sell. Selling due to medical debt.
If the ad is still up, the car is still for sale.
Thanks for looking ~
