Well I finally pulled the trigger and baught a 2011 TDI Sedan this past Saturday. I love the car, but I think there is a issue with the front windshield. When I am driving and look to the right side of the road through the front windshield, it looks like the road is bending. Kinda distorts the road a little bit. My wife has noticed this also, but does not think it is a big deal. Am I crazy to think this is not normal, or is the way all new 11's windshield views look like? I am headed to the dealership this morning to show it to the salesman.

Mine does the same, its kind of strange but I guess its just how the windshield is built.

Try raising your seat or adjusting the back up,so you are looking through the windshield at a slightly different angle. It may or may not make a difference.

I have tried adjusting the seat, try to just ignore it and accept it. But after a while of driving it is just bothers me. This can't be normal, I have never had a car do this before. I will let you all know what the salesman and service manager say. I did not notice this issue when I test drove the TDI wagon.

I've noticed it on one of 09's,but not even sure which one. No big deal as my normal line of sight isn't through this area on the glass. It seems to be right at the very bottom. lol on the dealer comments. "never saw heard of that before" "yea, its normal" "they're all like that"

I just went out and checked. I have the same thing if I look down and to the right towards the white line. There is definitely a little bit of bending on the bottom 6-8 inches of the windshield.

Im interested to see what your dealer says.

I was recently in a New Beetle and its front window glass was horribly distorted. It gave me a headache. Poor quality glass.

Just spoke with my salesman, after showing it to him and the service manager, they agreed this is a issue that should be resolved and can impair a persons driving ability. Therefore they are going to replace the entire front windshield. I was seriously going to return the car if this was not resolved. But I will give the dealership props for accepting the problem and responsibility to fix it. I don't know if we are allowed to mention dealerships name's on this forum, but Bommarito VW in St. Peters, MO has been awesome from giving me a great price on the car and now fixing the issue. I went to a couple other VW dealers in ST. Louis and I cannot say anything nice about them.

If any of you owners are having issues with the Window site, you should definitely bring it up with your dealership, VW has to fix this, if it is problem with all the cars.

I still love my TDI, averaging 37mpg for the first 100 miles. I am almost looking forward to emptying out the tank to see what my actual mileage is.
