Not that I really want to with all the other work going on with my car (gotta draw the line somewhere), but there is not a better time than now if it would be foolish not to. I bought these in July of 2016:
I had noticed they may have crushed a little bit before I parked the car for maintenance. At this point the nothing is attached to the lower shock, so I'm wondering since they are almost 9 years old if I should just go ahead and replace them. But, what really is the problem if the crush down some?
My control arms are off, axles out, knuckles off etc.
Anyone ever run these from ECS and how long before you considered them ready for replacement again? I searched for the Cupra R's but can't find them at the moment. I could also increase the stiffness setting on my Koni Reds. Been thinking bout that.

can't answer your question on the ones you have, but on my Jetta and Beetle I went with the purple PowerFlex urethane strut mounts. 3 years later on both and there was no sag. Did not appreciably increase cabin noise but the steering response did feel better.

Thanks for the tip. I like the durometer. Plust you can get them in black in the Heritage collection that states "Manufactured using the same premium polyurethane as our street series, but in a dark grey color. These bushings improve any collector car, while retaining the same standard appearance of a rubber bushing. I mean it IS a 2000 jetta! Any squeeks/nosie you've noticed? Did you use silicone paste where they meet the body?

I have two cars so far with the black( stiffest ) Powerflex strut mounts. I will have another when I ever have to get into it.

My Cupra mounts after a few years of beating have at most a quarter inch gap. They're not bad, but eventually they'll be changed to the purple powerflex, which I think will sag even less. Had them on another car with no complaints.
