Step 1: Go to Google
Step 2: Search: dealer autocheck inurl:vin
Step 3: Look for a very recent result with some sort of car [COLOR=blue! important][COLOR=blue! important]dealership[/COLOR][/COLOR] affiliation such as: http://moonhonda.com/inventory/autoc...FF28BX9D208011 (http://moonhonda.com/inventory/autoc...FF28BX9D208011)
Step 4: Replace the VIN at the end of the link with yours & hit enter.


Cool way to check, don't think this breaks any rules - works, just tried it out.

It doesn't seem to work very well for older cars. I put in the VIN for the barge I just bought and all it tells me is that it's a Chrysler, up-scale, which isn't news.

Mind you, the results are worth exactly what you paid for them. My 98 was written off twice by insurance, but still comes up clean.

Awesome will need to try this. Looking for a new car and it seems carfax doesn't have the unlimited VIN search subscription anymore. I heard about autocheck as they now have unlimited VIN search, however not as detailed for Canadian cars. I'm only using carproof for the serious potential buys. Thanks again
