Does anyone else notice the amount of moisture inside their cars?
I've had numerous Jetta's before...not sure if its the model or not but my interior windows of the 2012 fog up like crazy every day. Doesnt matter what the himidity is, cold or warm...windows are always fogged up. Especially the rear. In the winter time I've almost used the scraper inside the car due to the amount of ice build up.
I've tried everything from leaving the windows slightly open during the night, didnt run the heater for a few days (froze my a$$ off), tried numerous air vent/fan combinations....and nadda.

Is it possible the car itself has bad weather stripping? (I do get quite the noise during hwy speeds and its not the mirrors...I can acutally hear it coming from rear windows and front windshield but no breeze comes through when I put my hand there)

Anyone have any suggestions or tips? (oh..and I've already tried not breathing either :))

I have the same problem sometimes, simple answer is that our cars were cost cut. Not that good material or products used. My plan is to start fixing things they way it should of been made from the factory. Taking apart panels, fixing trim and vibrations. Small things for now, but I do have the same foggy window problem.

I have noticed this too when it rains, high humidity or we have a major temperature drop. But I've also noticed how air tight, at least mine, the car is. I have to crack a window to get the doors to close. Possibly it's too airtight and retaining the moisture?

Try turning ON the air conditioner, and turning OFF the re-circulate button and see if that helps.

Or,actually,if you go to DEFROST mode, with NO re-circulate button, that should do it also.

When I had my '11 TDI, it fogged like crazy and I actually had 1-2 mm of ice on the inside of the windshield. I took it to the dealer and, as it turns out, my HVAC system was the problem. My air box plenum was warped from factory. The only issue with this is that the service techs at the dealer were morons and pulled my dash 4 times to get to the problem which caused more problems... I ended up with an adjusted plenum and two new air boxes.

Tried that and tried that. I have the car since late September and tried any and all of the combinations possible since then.

Hrmmm.....you maybe on to something here. I am not car smart so I need to ask you this question: based on what you described above, is it possible that this problem could cause the car to make "tumbling" or "bubbling" sound while idling? (I mean something coming out of where there's some type of air flow from underneath the hood) Because if both symptoms are the causes of this air box plenum...and its most def something I need to get the dealer to check out.

Thanks

I had this problem with my last car, a 2008 Jetta 2.0T. It only started happening a few months ago. Defog actually made it worse. Only the AC helped with the windows cracked open. Not fun in the winter. I noticed it got better when I cleaned out all the gas receipts I had built up in there. I've since returned the car as the lease ended and purchased the 2012 Jetta TDI. No issues like that with this car.

I know someone who had the same issue in one of their pickup trucks and it turn out that there was a pool of water under his mats. After he had the water taken out, he hasn't had that issue since.

Also make sure you don't have a leak. Maybe in the trunk or under the floor mate etc. Do you have a sun-roof. They are well known for increasing the moisture in a car.

Yep!

Lift the mats and check under for water. Specially the rear mats. I had an issue with mine. There was water coming in from the rear sunroof drain plug and it was coming into the car. Had to get that fixed.
