Fog light warning light

So long story short, I hit a raccoon coming home one night and it messed up the front bumper slightly. I don't have fog lights on my car, just the grill cover in that area which I have ordered a new one. The warning light saying check right fog light is on though. I have checked the wires where the raccoon hit and everything looks fine besides the obvious missing grill cover. Any suggestions on how to get the warning to go away?

Interesting... Unless something has changed, there is no wiring/programming at all on a car that didn't come from the factory with fogs. Even my dealer sourced retrofit will not give a bulb out warning. Check your other bulbs to see if one blew and you are getting an incorrect message. Year/trim of Passat?

Mine should be identical to yours then (OP) and did not come with factory fogs or any kind of wiring for them. The body control module isn't even programmed to look for them so you it shouldn't be possible for it to fault. If you don't have VCDS to run a scan, try disconnecting/reconnecting the battery.

... None :S
Cars with factory navigation have factory foglights.

I'd check the BCM for faults. If your car didn't come with foglights the BCM doesn't even have the provision to drive them.
