my 2011 vw jetta tdi has been having a ton of issues this year, i’m just over 120k and have had it in and out of the dealership for warranty work a handful of times this year alone. first they replaced the intake manifold and some exhaust seals covered under warranty, but now they’re saying i have a bad flywheel and that’s why it’s shaking at idle. the shaking didn’t start until the catalytic converter light showed up. i’m wondering if that can have anything to do with the flywheel going bad and if so i can have it covered under warranty? the dealer called vw and they said no but i have heard overheating of the engine can damage the flywheel so if what’s under warranty could have caused this should it be covered? anybody have this happen? thanks in advance.

thst flywheel is notorious for failure at that mileage and is not a dieselgate warranty item . its solely a coincidence it failed while you were having other issues.
