Read the documents - either via mailed check or electronic transfer via JP Morgan Chase bank. There's a link to how to do EFT payment in the email that just came from VW.

Got the email today/fix scheduled end of next week/it is a one shot deal as we had thought it would be a two part fix. Once fix completed another email will be sent to us to send our banking information for an EFT payment. Really did not believe the end of our nightmare would happen. As for BOSCH payment it appears to be in a 'holding pattern' to be set up after fix is documented to have been done by dealership.

Why? Nothing had ever indicated that the Gen1 or Gen2 fixes would require multiple visits, only Gen3.

And . . . ?

I have a 2014 JSW, 6-speed manual. Having read many many threads here, I'm still debating "the fix."

The offer letter we received from Volkswagen specified a two-part repair on our Gen 1 ('14 Beetle TDI) and noted how payment would be remitted in two parts after each step was completed.

The US EPA and CARB approved fix is to include but one step, wiping and installing new software and replacing the NOx filter as I understand.

But be forewarned: upon arrival at the dealer this morning for my AEM service, I was surprised with a secondary recall involving a snow flap / O2 sensor, etc., and that secondary recall has resulted in an additional couple of days to complete, as per the dealer due to Volkswagen not allowing the dealers to stock the O2 sensors.

Was definitely not expecting this additional delay, additional work, further inconvenience to us.

Interesting. I've received offer letters on four Gen 1 2.0 TDIs. None of them said this. They've all said this:
If your vehicle is a Model Year 2015 Eligible Vehicle, the approved emissions modification will be completed in two stages. Upon completion of the first stage of the approved emissions modification, you will receive 2/3 of the payment amount shown above. Upon completion of the second stage of the approved emissions modification, you will receive the last 1/3 of the payment amount shown above.
...which is, of course, silly; VW knows exactly what the vehicle is, so there's no reason this needs to be in there at all. But nonetheless, it's very clear that this provision applies only to MY2015 (i.e., Gen 3) cars.
