Gone but not forgotten
I have been lurking here for a while and thought I would sign up. While I have been very active in the Miata community at miata.net, I was a Mod there and owned 6 Miatas, and over on the Subaru Legacy and Forester forums and VWVortex. I am in the process of replacing my 09 Forester with a 10 JSW TDI do to the fact that while the Forester is a fine vehicle, I hate driving a SUV and want to go back to a wagon and since Subie no longer offers a Legacy wagon, my choices are limited. I really like the size of the JSW being about the size of the previous gen Legacy, 66 cu ft.. Other than missing AWD, the Jetta has exactly what I want, 4 snows will be in order since we drive to Vermont a lot.

But enough of me talking about me...

Since you are in PA, you might want to call Chris at VW Langhorne, outside of Philly and see what he can do as far as getting a 2010 JSW for you. Excellent reputation around these forums for dealing with customers and vehicle pricing..

Hey, great minds think alike. My other car is a 91 NA miata, and I'm trading my 05 legacy gt wagon for a 2010 tdi sportwagen. Looking forward to a change, but couldn't beat the subaru for all weather and great power. If only subaru's diesel wagon had been out in time.....

I have had 6 Miatas including most of the Mazda alphabet, A, B, C, AE, R, M. I have access to a 05 LGT wagon with a stick. But I really think I want the TDI.

AWD is a PITA to install but it can be done... :D

the torque of a TDI is amazing I was only 5-6 seconds slower than the modded AWD STI's when I was AutoX racing. (then again my 03 Jetta TDI was pretty modded)

Factory LSD or AWD is something I always wished VW had as a offering in the TDI. the 2010's all come with ESP which emulates an LSD by clipping the brake on the wheel that is slipping. not as good as a hardware DIFF but better than nothing.
