Finding D2-B5 for TDI's

Have seen many discussions on finding service stations that offer TDI fuel requirements of D2 or B5 when traveling outside of our immediate locals. I have been calling Volkswagon Dealerships prior to leaving on my planned routes and ask the service departments where they fuel their TDI's requiring D2 or B5. Information has been helpful, but also inconvenient when having to deviate from main route to find qualifying stations.

I carry 80 ounce Power Service bottles filled with a mixture of B100/PS White (70:30 ratio).

3 such bottles, plus a full tank to start with, will take me 4,000 miles with a little to spare in the Jetta...Touareg gets about 2,700 with this stash plus a full tank, which is enough to make it to Richmond, VA and back to Houston).

So what I am doing is bringing B100 with me and making my own B3 on the road. Sometimes I hit pumps that state there could be bio content already....I add my stuff anyway. One tank with B10 is waaay better than one tank with gas-contaminated D2 and no lubricity help!

Stop and fuel at any name brand station offering D2 including D2/BIO blends of B20 or less (B20 Through B1). Fuel in Illinois may contain UP TO B20. It should be B20 or LESS and therefore suitable fuel for your TDI.

Drive more, Worry less.

You should have gotten a letter from VW stating all IL. registered tdi's can use up to B20 <snip>
I live in IL; we've had our new Passat for close enough to two months, and I have seen no such letter from VW (although they did send me an extensive survey on the car).
Am I particularly concerned about this issue of the amount of biodiesel in my fuel? If I were, I would immediately trade this car on a gasser and eat the depreciation.
OTOH, I'm currently using 4 oz. Opti-Lube per fill, so perhaps my thoughts are as divided on this matter as some others appear to be.

For those in Illinois and any other state thinking of specifying a biodiesel mandate higher than B5 this could be an issue. However, as VW has stated in the letter to some Illinios registered vehicles, you can run B20, just keep an eye on the oil levels. If you don't feel comfortable and know of a station that has D2, I'd keep going there.

Otherwise, just make sure when you fuel up, pop the hood and see if the oil levels are rising. If not, then just keep a 10k mile service interval. If it does rise, go down to 7.5k or 5k if need be.

As for finding Biodiesel I used this:

Found Burke's Oil in Chelsea, MA that sells B5 and B20 as well as D2. All the diesel itself looks to be Irving branded and then blended with the BioD at the pump.
