Bought 2 years ago from I'd parts a 2 inch lift kit. Didn't install it for various reasons. After sitting in my parked car at work and funny enough the right front spring blew - what a sound. Limped it to mechanic and found a broken rear spring as well finally decided ots time.
Not sure if they sent me the wrong kit, but it lifted it closer to 3 inches - but I love it.

Now I must admit, I need to replace a drive shaft (one was done as the cv boot was cracked) and now there is a very noticeable drive shimmy at low speeds and low power.
My mechanic recommended if it doesn't clear soon, replace the other worn shaft as it's the cause. Its getting done asap as it hasn't settled down.

I love the new height, it's much more like a subaru now, i basically turned my golf wagon into a crossover.

I love my lifted height, but I’ve also noticed a weird shimmy that may be an axle doing something funny….
Ive also broke sway arm links like crazy it seems…. Not sure if any of this is related to the lift, or the fact the car has hit the 10 years old self destruct age…(thanks salty roads and extreme weather)

Did you get it aligned after the lift install?

I did and it was all in spec. I’ve done about 25k km and had no weird tire wear. Besides what I think is the axle shimmy, it worked great for a 10k km road trip. Now that winter is over I’ve found broken links, one broken rear spring…. (Suplex brand springs)

Bent rim or a failing tyre.

Also getting second axle replaced on Tuesday. Hope that takes out the low speed wobble. It's fine on the highway. I had a 4 wheel tire alignment done, also like a noob I didn't get them to balance my tires.
So I'm going to thus time.
Height wise it's awesome, and now that I've done this I've noticed a few other vws lifted here in Barrie Ontario
