I would have made it today, if I there had been a station closer to my destination.

I was on 786 miles, with 20 miles remaining showing on the MFD computer.

I just broke the 800 mile mark tonight with 806 miles for the first time! I'm not one to really try hard to get the best posible milage and really wasn't trying on this tank either. But once I noticed how much fuel I had left in the tank once I hit 1000 km (Canadian car) on the tripometer I figured I would try to break the 800 mile mark. It took barely over 16 gallons to fill it back up which is the most I have ever put in this car so far. and my fuel light had been on for 35 miles.

I finally did it! :) 831 miles/15.319 gallons/54.2 MPG! Best tank ever for both numbers! I did it while commuting the last 2 weeks in southern Riverside/northern San Diego counties, which includes 1000+ foot elevation changes for my route. I could have pushed further but I was below the red line and didn't want to run it dry.
This will probably be the only tank like this, as I am upgrading to DLC-1019 nozzles this weekend and won't be able to keep my foot off of the go pedal.

I'm jealous of all the 800 milers. Sadly, I have never broken 700 miles, much less 800, on a tank. I only have one tank on the new Golf, but the old Golf was an automatic with PP520s, kermatune, and my lead foot. Made it to 686 but that's the farthest I've gotten. First tank in the new Golf was 588 on 11.5 gallons, but that was more than half interstate at 75 to 80 coming from Phoenix to San Diego area. We'll see how the slower and traffic ridden tanks do.

Just got a 700 mile tank in my '12 Golf, so of course now I'm thinking about how to get 800. Scrolling through recent posts I don't see any CR cars doing 800 but I'm sure there are. Looks like I'd have to get 55 MPG to do this.

I'm thinking that if I have a road trip before winter fuel arrives and I stick with 60 or 62 MPH I might make it. Thoughts?

DPF going missing and dynamic egr will start the ball in the right direction. Or some drafting....

I got one 700 mile tank in my 2011 JSW. The last hundred miles or so was me driving about 55-60, and the MFD1 reading was 56 mpg. If you have the patience, you might make it.

Wow, didn't realize this thread was here. It's been a while since I was in the 800 mile club but for my old commute it was every tank. 2005 Golf averaged around 840-860 miles a tank on my 65 mile a day commute.

Now days if I break 650 I'm lucky. But the commute is 8 miles a day and I fill up once every couple months.

800 would be awesome from my '11 Jetta. I've hit close to 700 a couple times but not trying. I've put 19" wheels on it now and don't think I could. I can easily do it in my other car. '12 passat. Challenge accepted...

Made it again today. 801.7 miles plus the 14 miles I didn't catch because I forgot to reset the tripometer =815.7mi/15.128G/53.9mpg. This was tougher because of more traffic and having just changed to DLC1019 nozzles. I'll have to try for 900 miles one of these days.

Speaking from experience, I would not draft behind semis. Maybe the drivers are kinder up there? That's a good way to end up with a semi as a hood ornament. I just finished a 3200 mile trip to WY, CO, MT, mountains, 80 mph and still got 46.5 mpg.

I finally did it !!

I finally did it !! On the way to work the fuel like came on at round 740 so I said to myself, you can do it. So I went for broke, as I had came so close a few others times but wasn't willing to risk walking. Not today !!
Still running (under power) and showing no signs of shutting off, I rolled in at the pumps with 799.8 Dang it !!, so you can image a VW wagon running laps around a truck stop of which I had to drive by the Wendy's drive thru window twice so you can imagine the look I got the second time through.
As luck would have it, it rolled over to 800.0 on the dot on the second lap so I pulled up to the B20 pump and turned her off !!
FINALLY !! I knew she could do it. My wife thought I was a dork when I called and told her I was going for broke. :D
Once I get my new injectors / Nozzles installed and play with a few Malone tunes I have, I am sure this will not be so hard on the driver....:D
Probably would have been easier if Growler, bhtooefr and I hadn't figured out over a Saturday GTG my power issues so I wouldn't have been having so much fun with the added new power I had been missing all year !!
Growlers new Golf project appears to be headed towards the easy 800's or maybe even the 900 area from yesterdays numbers.
Miles = 800.0 Gallons = 16.982

Very nice. I was just reading through this to see if anyone has hit 800 in a Jetta MK6. I figure I need about 53.7 mpg to do it, my best so far is only 49.3, 752 miles. But at least I've hit 700+ 7-8 times. :)

It can be done....55.7 mpg according to actual fuel useage. Had 10 miles left according to car computer when I took that photo. Plus the approximately 0.8 gallon undocumented utter emergency reserve. :)

Then a tree had to go and fall on my car this morning. :(

Sorry to hear about your car :(. Is it a total loss? My Golf was totaled last November by a mountain . Not fun.

Still waiting on the adjuster. So once I find out I can consider my options.
