Your a/c works just like your diesel. It takes some work to get it going from a dead stop, but once its up and running its almost effortless to keep it moving.
Anyway, I vented my tank a couple weeks ago and set out for 800. Lots of coasting, lots of tailgaters, lots of pissed off people (I'm used to it now). I was running incredibly well, I hit 425 miles at the half way mark and thought meybe even 900 for the tank. Then I installed H&R sport springs with Koni orange and BBS RC's to top it off. Immediately I felt the wheels, rolling resistance increased and some extra weight to boot. Well my light came on at 735 and ended up at the petro station with 823.3 on the dash. Unfortunately I didn't vent my tank again so I'm not sure of the mileage but it took 13 gallons before the pump clicked off.
This tank was a mixed bag for driving conditions. Highway, city, stop and go, 60 mph cruising (and coasting), hills, flat land, windows up/down, a/c on/off. I work M-F 8-5 and drive 27 miles each way. My 75lb Weimaraner was in the car for about half of the time but otherwise the car was empty. This car just keeps on impressing me.
