My wife was rear ended in our Jetta yesterday. Damage to the back bumper, trunk, trunk floor, taillights. Still drives great, but with the high mileage, insurance company wants to total it. They estimate repair costs of about $3000 or possibly more.
The engine is in pristine condition: new brakes and rotors (Aug. 2014), new fuel injector and alternator (Dec. 2014), turbo system repair and replaced oil gaskets (Mar. 2015), and new tires (May 2015), runs very smooth, 45-50 mpg. Always use AMSOIL synthetic oil and change oil regularly. No leaking fluids. Body has minor rust spots (no holes) on hood. Interior carpet is worn, but clean. Never been smoked in, no dog.
What is the car worth as a whole? Would rather not part it out myself. Located in Raleigh, NC. (Sorry for the delay on pictures.)
