Seeing if there is any interest in my Golf. I'm in a position to get something more modern for a DD and if there is someone to whom this vehicle speaks to, I'd rather they enjoy it than me hang on to it. Definitely wouldn't trade it in.

2006 VW Golf TDI, Manual
150xxx miles
4 Door, Reflex Silver
Viroqua, WI
$5000
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Purchased from a TDI Club member, here is his original posting in 2016 to get a feel of what he, the second owner, did to it:
“I have a 2006 VW Golf (4 doors) TDI 1.9 diesel with the 5-speed manual transmission. This is an MK4 chassis golf. Currently has 122,xxx miles on the odometer (original yes). I have done quite a bit of work to this car! Everything from a performance, general maintenance, to exterior upgrades. I will list some of the key points. VNT-17 turbo, stage 4 Malone tune, stage 2 extreme clutch, 2.5" downpipe back stainless exhaust, PD150 Euro intake manifold, upgraded SMIC, all new SMIC to turbo pipe, EGR delete, short shifter, all aluminum skid plate, all new Bilstein coils, struts, shocks, all new bushings throughout, 1" lift kit, all fluids and filters replaced, custom projector headlights with HID lows and optional fog lights (with euro switch), I also wired the rear fog light, and the list keeps going. Sorry for the longest run-on sentence. As you can see this car is basically mechanically brand new. I spared no expense while building it. I enjoy these cars and planned to daily drive this hot rod for years to come. The only negative facts on this car are the tires are about 50-60%, the wheels are factory and bubbling, and there are quite a few dings and dents on the exterior. It has a clean history and title. I purchased from the original owner. The windows have been tinted. I have two keys, and it has a roof rack that I rebuilt (bought new parts). All options work, including heated seats. This car is a blast to drive! I have many receipts and spent way too much on this car, but it was well worth it! Also, I feel that MK4s will increase in value as the DieselGate takes its toll on the poor TDi 2.0's.
** Recently installed all new subframe bushings, rear axle bushings, FrostHeater (like a block heater), New engine and transmission mounts, new driver's side door window regulator, all new suspension bolts (properly torqued), and had it aligned. It now has a set of optional snow tires with factory steel wheels. I do also have VCDS Mobile (VAG-COM) that I used on this car.”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Since I purchased it:
- Not putting on many miles per year but changing oil with Pentosin yearly. Burns maybe half a quart in a year, no leaks.
- OMI Intake pipe
- Kenwood Bluetooth double DIN CD player
- Fumoto oil drain valve
The Good:
- Engine has always run great, Brian seems to have done a great job.
- Brakes fixed all around, new calipers up front and vacuum leak fixed. New polyurethane suspension bushings.
- Stock wheels completely refurbished and painted gloss black. Good tire life remaining. Snow tires available.
- Still a lot of timing belt life.
- AC and heated seats work fine.
The Bad:
- Door sensor issues. It’s never bothered me too much. Radio will stay on until you lock with the key which is actually kind of nice sometimes, but doors will re-lock after 30 seconds even if you get in, if you don’t do something extra to awaken the car.
- 14 years old, Looks great from far away, many surface imperfections on closer inspection.
PM me then we can talk via phone, text or email.
